Job Overview

Background:

Rezan is a national Iraqi Non-profit organization established in Iraq with the aim of supporting conflict affected communities and Contributing for a safe, dignified, sustainable livelihoods and environment friendly for vulnerable communities and advocating for climate action.

 

Overall Responsibility

The Agriculture Trainer will work with the Livelihoods team on providing training, developing strategies to enhance crop productivity despite climate challenges, guiding farmers in adopting sustainable practices, offering technical support, and monitoring the impact of these techniques on productivity and the environment.

 

Main duties and responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with the Program Officer to Develop a curriculum for Agriculture Trainings.
  2. Prepare training materials, including presentation slides, handouts, and reference materials.
  3. Prepare pre- and post-training assessments to measure participants’ progress.
  4. Collect feedback from participants to evaluate the training program’s effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  5. Conduct regular field visits to observe and assess the practical application of agricultural techniques taught during training sessions.
  6. Interact with farmers, visit farms, and provide on-site guidance to participants.
  7. Work closely with Rezan program staff and participants to manage tasks such as maintaining attendance records, conducting pre and post-training assessments, and addressing logistical issues.
  8. Conduct individual mentoring sessions with beneficiaries.
  9. Engage in meetings as needed and fulfill any additional tasks assigned by Rezan.

 

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Educational Background: A degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field. A master’s degree or higher is advantageous.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Effective communication skills to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated capacity to collaborate effectively within a team.
