Job Overview

Position Summary:

The AP Senior Accountant will predominantly be responsible for the production and review of TASC financial statements and reports. The position will ensure company financial statements comply with applicable government regulations, track and record company transactions through the maintenance and production of journal entries and participate in the implementation of relevant internal compliance controls. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will contribute to the overall smooth operation of TASC projects through a well-versed knowledge of the company’s financial position and accounting best practices.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and review TASC financial records and other relevant documentation.
  • Prepare and record assigned journal entries in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Assist in ensuring adherence to internal control and compliance procedures.
  • Record and reconcile all assigned company transactions.
  • Participate in the publishing of month-end information and monthly closing of financial records.
  • Assist the Chief Accountant and Corporate Accounting in preparing and coordinating annual audits.
  • Work with the Chief Accountant to identify and fix financial discrepancies, assess the company’s monthly cash flow, evaluate tenant lease agreements, analyze payroll reports, and examine budget vs. forecast variances to prepare monthly financial reports that assist senior management in making informed business decisions.
  • Participate in other relevant accounting projects.
  • Effectively oversee and aid in the development of Junior Accountants.
  • Perform all other relevant duties as assigned by the Line Manager.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in accounting.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in the Middle East market.
  • Minimum of three (3) years handling closing of Books in & out system.
  • Strong analytical acumen for managing large quantities of data with accuracy.
  • Superb understanding of accounting and financial best practices and principles.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in navigating ERP systems.
  • Strong emphasis and ability to maintain confidentiality and operate with a high level of integrity.
  • Strong prioritization skills and proactivity in delivering results.
  • Highly numerate individual.
  • High level of responsibility both for accomplishing key deliverables as well as for setting a positive example for the Junior Accountants.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Fluency (both oral and written) in both English, Arabic and Kurdish.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (e.g., Oracle) or other financial systems (e.g., IBM Cognos Controller).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting regulations and practices.
