Job Overview

Overview: An Architect is responsible for designing and planning the construction of buildings and structures. This role involves conceptualizing architectural designs, creating detailed drawings and specifications, and overseeing construction projects from inception to completion. Architects combine artistic creativity with technical expertise to create functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces.


  1. Conceptual Design: Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements, preferences, and project goals. Develop conceptual designs and sketches that meet the client’s vision while considering functional, aesthetic, and budgetary considerations.
  2. Detailed Design Development: Translate conceptual designs into detailed architectural drawings, plans, and specifications. Use computer-aided design (CAD) software and other tools to create accurate and comprehensive design documents.
  3. Building Regulations Compliance: Ensure that architectural designs comply with building codes, zoning regulations, and other legal requirements. Obtain necessary permits and approvals from regulatory agencies.
  4. Structural Analysis: Work with structural engineers to analyze the structural integrity and stability of building designs. Incorporate structural elements and systems into architectural plans.
  5. Materials Selection: Select appropriate materials, finishes, and construction methods for architectural projects. Consider factors such as durability, sustainability, cost, and aesthetic appeal.
  6. Construction Oversight: Collaborate with contractors, subcontractors, and construction teams to oversee the implementation of architectural designs. Monitor construction progress, resolve design issues, and ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards.
  7. Project Management: Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively. Coordinate with consultants, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  8. Client Communication: Communicate with clients to present design concepts, solicit feedback, and address concerns. Maintain regular communication throughout the design and construction phases to keep clients informed and engaged.
  9. Interior Design Coordination: Collaborate with interior designers to integrate interior spaces and finishes with overall architectural concepts. Coordinate the selection of furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) to complement the architectural design.
  10. Sustainability Integration: Incorporate sustainable design principles and practices into architectural projects. Consider energy efficiency, environmental impact, and resource conservation in design decisions.


  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
  • Professional licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Architect.
  • Proficiency in architectural design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or SketchUp.
  • Strong design skills and creativity, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and construction practices.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Experience with sustainable design principles and LEED certification is a plus.
