Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Area Manager is responsible for ensuring efficient operations and maintenance works on all TASC tower structures in an assigned area, maintaining strict compliance with TASC’s operation SOPs as well as local regulatory requirements. The role requires superb team management skills, with an emphasis on speedy resolution of trouble tickets and the implementation of thorough routine maintenance schedules, both of which must be conducted in a manner that adheres to agreed-on service level agreements.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the structural integrity of all TASC assets within the assigned area comply with regulatory requirements and alert the engineering team to any towers with structural weakness.
  • Ensure speedy resolution of trouble tickets in accordance with the relevant SLAs.
  • Manage activities such as repair, maintenance, and inspection work to ensure that the tower structures within an assigned area are of the highest structural and operational integrity.
  • Escalate and provide full visibility into any service interruptions that result from maintenance, operational, or emergency issues.
  • Manage and develop working relationships with external stakeholders (e.g., landlords) to assist in maintaining unimpeded site access.
  • Ensure that all operation and maintenance goals are achieved within the allocated budget
  • Prepare regular maintenance reports and forecasts to aid the finance team in creating cost projections.
  • Prepare weekly update reports for all operations and maintenance activities at assigned tower sites to the relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure strict compliance of all activities with TASC’s safety program.
  • Review maintenance plans, project pricing, and various reports (e.g., vandalism, theft, etc.) to decide on the following course of action.
  • Liaise with Zain’s In-House Teams to effectively achieve all operations and maintenance goals.
  • Ensure O&M vendors perform at a high standard and comply with TASC’s regulations.
  • Monitor and maintain the uptime of the network in the Area Manager’s allocated area according to specified KPIs.
  • Proactively resolve on-the-ground operational challenges with O&M vendors by implementing work-around solutions.
  • Oversee the budget for the Area Manager’s allocated area, according to the operating market’s asset development plan.
  • Perform any relevant tasks as assigned by the O&M Sr. Manager.

Required Experience:

  • Expert-level knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure and maintenance test equipment.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Superb ability to identify and diagnose operational problems, then institute effective remedies.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in project management.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or a related field.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Fluency (both oral and written) in both English and Arabic.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in GIS monitoring tools and systems is preferred.
  • Excellent time management skills.
