STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Economics, International Development, Political or Social Sciences, Humanities, International Relations, or relevant field. A first-level university degree, in combination with qualifying experience, may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
Language: Fluent (level C) English and Arabic in both oral and written communication
Experience: A minimum of five years relevant work experience, which involve implementation and management in electoral assistance activities. At least three years’ experience in sustaining high-level professional relations. Experience working with the UN, or an international organisation on electoral issues; demonstrated ability to thrive within a complex multicultural and multinational environment strongly preferred; knowledge of UN rules, regulations, policies, and procedures an asset.
SUMMARY OF KEY FUNCTIONS
1. Assist in day-to-day administration of the Elections Project.
2. Support the Project Manager in managing and monitoring project risks.
3. Stay informed of project activities, assist in implementation and coordination.
4. Assist in effective project management, tracking progress through monitoring and reporting.
5. Ensure proper procurement following UNDP rules and procedures.
6. Assist with the capacity building programme provided to the IHEC to enable its administrative structure and functioning.
7. Support the PM in management and monitoring of risks initially identified, submitting information on the new risks and possible mitigating measures to the Senior UNCT Coordination Advisor for consideration and updating the status of these risks by maintaining a Project Risk Log.
8. Keep abreast of all project activities to provide timely assistance and support the management and coordination of the implementation of the respective activities based on the relevant project documents with a view to achieving project goals.
9. Assist effective project management of the assigned projects administrative outputs, while tracking the project progress through monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
10. Ensure proper procurement of goods and services in line with UNDP rules and procedures.
