Job Overview

Essential Function: Your focus will be on daily reporting for the farm to maintain metrics that demonstrate increased environmental impact, community impact, and financial sustainability.

You will also assist with recording and labeling for the seed bank and nursery which will help increase profit potential and the environmental impact reporting for the farm. You will also assist with adapting the methods of data collection and reporting to streamline the process to be accessible to all farm staff. Training will be provided for all agricultural-related reporting and new software systems used for logging information.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Reporting
    • Seed Bank
      • Cataloging of saved seeds (digital/physical)
        • Digital catalog will be created alongside manager
        • Hard copy cataloging system creation alongside farmers
      • Seed labeling
    • Nursery
      • Cataloging of plants within excel and creating hard copy cataloging systems in collaboration with the farmers
      • Labeling of plants
    • Logframe
      • Collaboration with manager and farmers to create on farm best practices for reporting of logframe metrics and making the reporting process accessible to farm staff
      • Inputting logframe data into excel documents (ex: compost piles, water harvested, annual production, experiments tracking, family impact)
    • Salesforce
      • Assistance in uploading of logframe data to salesforce as needed
  • Financials
    • Uploading Receipts
      • Weekly/monthly uploads of expense receipts
      • Weekly/monthly uploads of income receipts
      • Verifying balance between Airtable uploads, cash in hand, and receipts
    • Invoice
      • Support with  procuring the money from the main office and allocating it to the appropriate staff member (ex: farmers, contracted construction workers)
  • Training Farmers
    • Training of lead farmer  (and general farm staff when applicable) in above methods for transferability of farming and longevity of knowledge
  • Enhance Enhance reporting methods to increase the sustainability of the farm
    • Teamwork, collaboration and cTeamwork, collaboration, and cohesion with farming staff to achieve all above responsibilities

  • Agricultural reporting software experience preferred:
    • Geo-mapping

  • Ability to diffuse and respond professionally to stressful situations and difficult people,
  • Ability to establish and maintain a good rapport with faculty and community members,
  • Ability to work successfully as a member of a team,
  • Demonstrate professionalism in dealing with a diverse population while understanding and respecting each other’s view of the world, personalities, and working styles,
  • Interested in permaculture and other regenerative farming practices and excited to use reporting as a method to show efficacy of methods,
  • Flexibility is a must,
  • Work with farm team to ensure safety of children at all times.

Required education and experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in administration and reporting data using digital reporting software, and written reporting methods as detailed above,
  • Working knowledge of google suite software, digital communication applications, and hard copy reporting systems is preferred,
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification preferred.

Language requirements:

  • Intermediate English spoken and written is preferred,
  • Kurdish required and Arabic preferred.

Physical demands:

  • Working on a farm for labeling plants and other duties as requested.

Travel: When required , travel to Sulaymaniyah office will be required for reporting. Potential for further travel to other farm sites will be discussed. Occasionally, local travel for procurements will be required. (Cost of transport for PLC related work will be covered by PLC).
