KSC has been established in 1991. our main office is located in Sulaymaniyah.

 

Project title:

Child Protection Services and Assistance for refugees and Asylum Seekers in Erbil and Sulaymaniyah.

 

About project:

This project seeks to provide protection services to refugees/asylum seekers, IDPS and host community children with the main focus on refugees/asylum seekers residing in the urban and camp areas of Erbil and Sulaymaniyah Governorates through: Providing specialized child protection services and support through case management for refugees, Conducting BIA and participating in the BID Panel under the overall framework of UNHCR’s Best Interest Procedures (BIP), Establishing or strengthening the capacity of community-based child protection structures, Community outreach/mobilization such as conducting awareness raising sessions for children and their parents/caregivers, Providing recreational, structured and non-structured PSS activities, as well providing capacity building to government counterparts responsible for child protection.

 

Scope of work:

The Associate case management specialist will provide timely and adequate technical, support build the capacity of project staff and advise on complex cases and work closely with case management supervisors and coaches to provide feedback and technical support on areas for improvement. This position will be technically supervised by a case management specialist in Erbil and will be under the management of the project manager in Sulaymaniyah.

 

Responsibilities:

Supervision and technical support:

  •  Provide guidance and training to the CM team on the proper completion of BIA, BID reports, including the collection of necessary information and adherence to established guidelines for writing and reviewing BIA and BID reports.
  •  Act as a BIA and BID reviewer and provide feedback to the CM team to ensure that the reports meet high standards of quality and accuracy.
  •  Maintain regular communication with the supervisor to ensure timely receipt and review of BID/BIA reports. Provide guidance and support to caseworkers to ensure that they complete pending cases efficiently, while also maintaining high standards of quality and adherence to established safeguards.
  •  Collaborate with UNHCR CP focal points to coordinate the review and approval of BID/BIA reports, and provide feedback to case workers and the supervisor on areas for improvement.
  •  Ensure that case management supervisor provides effective supervision and guidance to case workers to ensure high-quality case management practices. Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of case management supervisors and provide ongoing support and mentorship to ensure they are equipped to effectively carry out their responsibilities
  •  In cases where a child requires alternative care arrangements, provide guidance and supervision to case workers to ensure a timely and appropriate response.

 

Monitoring:

  •  Monitor the work of the case management team to ensure the quality of the CM services provided.
  • Monitor and track the progress of pending cases to ensure that they are being handled in a timely and efficient manner and take action as necessary to address any delays or issues that arise.
  •  Collaborate with the UNHCR CP focal point to monitor and evaluate the implementation of the Best Interests Procedure and make recommendations for improvements as necessary. Ensure that the Best Interests Procedure and the BID process are integrated into the overall child protection strategy, and work to continuously improve the effectiveness of these tools in protecting vulnerable children.
  •  Monitor and evaluate the performance of case management supervisors to identify areas for improvement and provide feedback and coaching to enhance their performance.
  •  Oversee and monitor the coaching process for government workers.

 

 

Other responsibilities:

  • In close partnership with the UNHCR focal point, lead the promotion and effective implementation of the Best Interests Procedure as a key child protection tool for all children at risk.
  • Conduct regular meetings with case management supervisor to review complex cases, ensure proper referral flow, monitor progress and achievements, and review the case management database.
  • Conduct regular field visits to ensure that case management practices are conducted appropriately, with appropriate measures in place to protect the confidentiality and security of case files.
  • Conduct final review of all family link assessments, child protection assessments, EPCA, and EMCA to ensure accuracy and completeness and share them with UNHCR.
  •  Maintain and update PROGRESS V4 system in accordance with instructions received from UNHCR.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in social sciences or related field.
  • Strong background of child protection.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in national/international NGOs.
  • Minimum 1-year experience as case management supervisor/ specialist.
  • Strong knowledge of case management processes and SOPs for child protection.
  • Very good knowledge of Best Interest procedures and BID.
  • very good knowledge of the main SOPs and guidelines issued by the CP sub cluster in Iraq.
  • previous experience in CP interventions funded by UN or other donors.
  • previous experience working with Refugees children is an asset.
  • fluency in English, Arabic, and Kurdish.

 

Contract Duration: until end of 2025

Working hours: 8:30 – 4:00
