Automotive Parts Advisor

Job Overview

Job Description Summary :

The Parts Advisor or Counterperson is responsible for assisting all mechanics and customers in purchasing needed parts and supplies. The Parts Advisor is also responsible for achieving monthly sales and gross forecasts and for seeking out and soliciting parts business. The Parts Advisor reports directly to the Parts Manager.

Primary focus is to deliver superior customer service with an emphasis on automotive part research and sales. Utilized in service, retail and commercial areas as a strong technical resource.

Some main roles and responsibilities;

    • Comply with Harlem Cars Group policy and procedures
  • Devotes maximum attention and effort to providing the highest levels of customer service
  • Assist Parts Manager with attaining retail sales and profitability plans in Parts and Accessories.
  • Receive and fill telephone orders for parts.
  • Gather customer and his vehicle information and record into DMS to determine customer needs, receive and fill telephone orders for parts, maintain updated customer account and database
  • Determine replacement parts required, according to inspections of old parts, customer requests, or customers’ descriptions of malfunctions and advise customers on the use of products or service information to customers and raising invoices and issuing receipts Utilizing ASCS (billing system)
  • Proactively up‐sell consumers and business on the value based parts
  • Calculate sales totals, taking into account such factors as discounts, store credit, promotions and flash sales
  • Participate in periodic physical inventory of all merchandise (counts, reports ).

Service Department Support

  • Assist service advisors with estimates and ordering parts as needed
  • Work as a team to make sure customers are taken care of properly
  • Take service technicians’ orders for parts and fill them as fast as
  • Interface with Service Technicians and ensure their Parts and Accessories needs
  • Assist service technicians in determining parts & accessories requirements for individual
  • Recommend related Parts and Accessories, which may be required for a
  • Supply cost of parts information on repair
  • Update inventory control system and parts
  • Notify service personnel when special parts or back‐ordered parts are received.

Requirements:
Languages: Arabic and Kurdish, English is a plus
Minimum 1-2 years of work experience as a Parts Advisor in an Auto industry
You should be:

  • able to use your initiative, neat, tidy and organized
  • good with numbers, accurate and methodical
  • able to work quickly and efficiently
  • interested in cars and engines
  • good at listening and talking to people
  • able to work in a team
  • polite to customers.

You also need to have:

  • a detailed knowledge of vehicle parts
  • good IT skills.
