Since 2004, Al-Mesalla has been actively operating in Iraq, focusing on civil society empowerment, women’s rights, livelihoods, peace, and justice.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Casework Supervisor will ensure quality provision of  the survivors of violence cases in  case management and psychosocial support services to  survivors of violence  at-risk women and girls. The Casework Supervisor will train, coach, and support Caseworkers and strengthen systems of support for survivors of violence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES:

  • Ensure case management and psychosocial interventions adhere to international best-practice standards and guiding principles when working with women and girl survivors of  violence (as per international and UN standards survivors of violence ..ect etc).
  • Ensure that quality case management systems and processes are in place (including assessment, planning, referral, monitoring, data management and supervision for case workers) for timely and quality case management response in the sites where Almesalla works. Ensure adherence to GBVIMS+ reporting system needs and guidelines.
  • Get back to the Project Manager and the Violence Prevention Officer on key trends and gaps related to violence against women and girls through case reviews.
  • management process to enable them to better guide the case management teams, brainstorm and propose possible solutions for particularly complex cases
  • The Casework Supervisor will train, coach, and support Caseworkers and strengthen systems of support for survivors of violence.
  • Train Caseworkers, in line with the Inter-Agency Case Management Guidelines , Caring for Child Survivors of Sexual Abuse
  • Coach Caseworkers though regular group and individual sessions, conduct routine case review meetings
  • Conduct regular supportive supervision sessions through supervision coaching mechanism with individual or group meetings ensuring strong follow up and monitoring, including performance evaluation for the case workers.
  • Support Caseworkers as required to respond effectively to cases, including direct service provision and coordination and advocacy with other service providers as well as supervising case conference meetings.
  • Maintain open and professional relations with team members, promoting a strong team spirit and providing oversight and guidance to enable staff to successfully perform in their duties.

 

  • Participate in facilitating trainings to other service providers who may interact with at-risk women and girls and survivors of violence in collaboration with the capacity building coordinator and Violence Prevention officer.
  • Contribute to the development and effectiveness of survivor of violence referral systems/pathways, ensure strict data protection and information-sharing protocols to protect the privacy, confidentiality, and safety of survivors as well as ensure that other agencies receive timely feedback on actions taken, when necessary.
  • Conduct regular site visits to fixed field offices including UNHCR registration center, Kawrgosk community center, household visits to survivor’s interview and monitor the case worker’s performance and adherence to the guidelines through shadowing mechanism.
  • Review individual case information/ case files on primero, reflect comments, approve or reject the case plans as well as review all the case management cycle steps before case closure.
  • Conduct satisfaction survey/ client feedback survey for the violence of survivor cases whom are provided case management by the case workers.
  • Adhere to data entry and reporting deadlines.
  • Assist with the recruitment of the Case Workers, in coordination with HR, and the Managers, create a safe and supportive environment for them and foster teambuilding, and support principles of self-care Coordination, Advocacy and Representation.
  • Assist and address staff stress, burnout, and workload by providing self-care sessions as needed.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to strengthen coordination and safe access to services for survivors, promote a survivor-centered approach in all internal and external coordination meetings
  • Organize case management meetings, as required, ensure compliance with security protocols and policies, foster a safe and supportive working environment for all staff.
  • Exemplify core principles of women programming, including respect, non-discrimination, responsible use of power, nonviolence, and promotion of equality.
  • Excellent Knowledge and experience in prevention, mitigation and response, including cross cutting issues such as child protection, disability, Youth, MHPSS is essential.

Systems and Processes

  • Ensure adherence to case management guidelines and best practice, developing and rolling out case management processes (service mapping, protocols, referral pathways, SOPs, etc.) where necessary
  • Support implementation and ensure adherence to project work plans, and monitoring and evaluation plans relating to case management
  • Carry out all tasks respecting key protection principles including but not limited to PSEA, do no harm, non-discrimination, confidentiality, accountability, and need-to-know principles

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Provide technical guidance and support for the implementation of quality case management reporting and monitoring systems (including the GBVIMS PRIMERO).
  • Ensure regular field visits and meetings with Case Workers and Supervisors
  • Input into AL_Mesalla and donor reports on activities, indicators and achievements for case management activities, particularly around case management staff capacity development
  • Review quarterly case management satisfaction survey results to enhance, refine and adjust case management services as an accountability measure.

Coordination, Communication & Relationship Building

  • Build strong relationships with services providers and key stakeholder to support the team to develop their referral pathways, service mapping and for collaboration on capacity development opportunities
  • Provide feedback through regular communication with the program manager , and the project Managers, on progress made on case management activities, and ensure challenges arising are being discussed and addressed in a timely manner, and to ensure the essential case management needs are being prioritized and responded to in wider project planning and review
  • Volunteer work when needed is a part of TOR

Qualifications:

  • Relevant academic experience such as an advanced degree in psychologist, or other relevant field of study preferred.
  • Previous work experience (at least 3 years) in case management.
  • Demonstrated commitment to core principles of women protection  programming, including equality and survivor centered support services.
  • Training and facilitation experience in survivors of violence, PSS or any relevant fields.
  •  Experience in emergencies and conflict areas is strongly preferred.
  •  Relevant regional experience is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with standards and guidelines for women empowerment and case programming and coordination.
