Job Overview

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver targets for Gross Margins and Promotional Spending for the designated category & geography
  • Define category pricing & promotion strategy for each channel in line with business plans to achieve month on month targets and improvement in metrics
  • Breakdown strategy and buy-sell margin targets into detailed execution plans
  • Implement the execution plans and monitor on a daily, weekly & monthly basis to ensure plans are implemented as per strategy and targeted margins & sales are achieved
  • Conduct a weekly gap analysis to course correct any variances in sales & margins due to pricing or supply sources to close gaps and enhance margins
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives with all stakeholders to optimize pricing & promotion effectiveness
  • Develop and implement a pricing playbook with an increasing understanding of customers & channels
  •  A ‘founders’ mindset’, strategic thinking, and an entrepreneurial approach to solving big customer problems innovatively through people, process, technology, and fast execution of strategic plans
  • 7-8 years of prior pricing & promotion experience in Iraq in the FMCG (food & Non-food) category for a major Modern Trade retailer /Supermarket
  • Deep operational understanding of FMCG category management, pricing & promotions management, and margin management
  • Experience working with FMCG suppliers in an operational role for supplier management

Job Requirements

  • Post Graduate Degree in Marketing or related discipline.
