Job Summary:
We are looking for a Child Protection Officer to lead child protection awareness, case management, and community training in Domiz1 and Sharia IDP camps. The role will focus on safeguarding children from abuse, neglect, and exploitation while ensuring their well-being through structured recreational and cultural activities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Child Protection Awareness & Support:
• Educate community members on child protection, abuse prevention, and safety.
• Guide families on child welfare and well-being.
• Ensure children in the community grow in a safe and protective environment.
2. Case Management:
• Identify and support at-risk children facing abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
• Provide direct assistance and referrals to services like counseling, healthcare, and legal aid.
• Develop individual case plans and monitor progress to ensure proper protection and care.
• Work with local authorities, social workers, and service providers to uphold children’s rights.
3. Capacity Building & Community Training:
• Conduct training workshops for parents, teachers, and community members on child protection and abuse prevention.
• Promote children’s rights and protection policies within the community.
• Collaborate with schools and organizations to integrate child safeguarding measures.
4. Recreational & Cultural Activities for Children:
• Organize play-based learning and creative activities to support children’s emotional and social development.
• Plan and lead games, sports, and group activities to encourage teamwork and physical well-being.
• Conduct art, storytelling, and cultural sessions to help children express themselves and explore their heritage.
• Arrange outdoor activities like nature walks and educational trips to promote healthy lifestyles.
Qualifications & Requirements:
✅ Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Child Protection, or a related field.
✅ At least 2 years of experience in child protection, case management, or community work.
✅ Strong knowledge of child rights, abuse prevention, and intervention strategies.
✅ Experience in working with displaced communities, refugees, or vulnerable children.
✅ Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
✅ Ability to work flexibly in humanitarian settings.
🔹 Preferred: Kurdish language skills, prior NGO experience, and knowledge of community-based child protection mechanisms.
