Job Overview

About KSC:

Kurdistan Save the Children (KSC), established in 1991, is a non-profit organization based in Sulaymaniyah, dedicated to providing assistance without regard to race, gender, traditions, political, or religious affiliation. Our non-political and non-sectarian approach guides our work with children, focusing on child protection, sponsorship, health, and education initiatives. Regardless of background or circumstances, our mission is to contribute directly or indirectly to a better future for children by addressing their diverse medical, social, economic, and educational needs. At KSC, we prioritize equality, operate with transparency, and emphasize our commitment to being non-political and non-sectarian. Join us in our mission to create a brighter and more promising future for children, fostering positive change and lasting impact in the communities we serve.

About the Education Program:

The primary objective of the education program at KSC is to ensure equitable access to education and provide necessary assistance to children, promoting their early development and fostering positive learning practices. KSC aims to achieve this by empowering local educational stakeholders with child development expertise and services, bridging gaps to offer more educational opportunities to children from diverse backgrounds.

Kurdistan Save the Children oversees various initiatives aimed at improving children’s education, including the operation of five Children’s Activity Centers across the Kurdistan Region (Arbat, Chwarta, Hassar), Shahid Jabbar High School, Educational Training Centre for Children with Special Needs, and Kaziwa Kindergarten in the Arbat Refugee camp.

The Children’s Activity Centers (known as Kaziwa) offer a wide range of courses such as computer skills, art, tennis, theatre, crafts, graphic design, library usage, dance, English language instruction, music, and Kurdish folk orchestra training.

These Centers are accessible throughout the year to children aged 6 to 14, serving as an inclusive space where children can participate in recreational and educational activities under the guidance of trained staff. Given their significance within their respective communities, these Centers often represent the sole available space for children’s use in the region, acting as the sole non-formal educational hub.
