Job Overview

Overview / Responsibilities

Accountabilities and requirements may include:

 

  • Delivering the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), including Asset Register Build, Preventative Maintenance, and Materials Management for all P&E projects
  • Provide the technical review for all the CMMS activities.
  • Managing the delivery of Asset Register Build and Preventative Maintenance by Shell TAO in Chennai in accordance with the Master Service Agreement (MSA), which involves a spend of around USD 1 million per year
  • Managing the delivery of Materials Management by LTTS in India as per the contract, which involves a spend of around USD 1 million per year and a team of about 15 contractors in India.
  • Ensuring that all relevant project data is correctly uploaded into SAP and that SCEs (significant change events) are identified in the asset register, and performance assurance tasks are aligned with other planned maintenance activities.
  • Being the process owner of the CMMS delivery process and spare parts strategy procedure.
  • Having an impact on approximately USD 8 million spend per year for 2-year operating spare parts.
  • Responsible for the quality check for all (Shell TAO, and LTTS) deliverables.

Key Expectations

  • Reporting to the OR lead, this role is responsible for developing, resourcing, monitoring, and controlling projects from initiation to closure. Key expectations include:
  • Developing and tracking project schedules, reporting actual vs. plan and resolving blockers and escalating issues before they impact the schedule.
  • Managing project resource contracts, hiring, budgets, and performance.
  • Ensuring the quality and completeness of project delivery and aligning with brown fields standards, processes, and timelines.
  • Delivering maintenance-related OR&A deliverables for the client’s Greenfield Projects.
  • Delivering projects on time, within budget, and to agreed standards.
  • Allocating approved resources to activities within the schedule, balancing green fields scopes.
  • Driving quality improvements and developing strategies to expedite scope.
  • Managing the delivery of Asset Register Build and Preventative Maintenance by Shell TAO in Chennai in accordance with the MSA, which involves a spend of around USD 1 million per year and a team of approximately 10 contractors in Chennai.
  • Managing the delivery of Materials Management by LTTS in India as per the contract, which involves a spend of around USD 1 million per year and a team of about 15 contractors in India.
  • Managing daily workload and keeping the organization informed of progress/issues.
  • Proactively resolving and escalating blockers immediately and vetting all deliverables produced by the team before presenting to the customer.
  • Advising and implementing improvement opportunities.
  • Building a complete and consistent SAP PM Module for the client and translating site data into SAP (asset hierarchy, preventive maintenance for Shell TAO, and bill of materials for LTTS).
  • Coordinating and maintaining networking with stakeholders relevant to the delivery of CMMS.
  • Providing peer coaching and communicating areas of improvement to Shell TAO and LTTS with possible solutions.

As the CMMS Eningeer, you will face several challenges in ensuring the smooth delivery of the project. Some of these challenges include:

 

  • Coordinating with Wood to obtain CMMS input data from vendors (e.g., ESPIL)
  • Collaborating with a data management specialist (IMIT) in Dubai and a remote CMMS coordinator (contractor)
  • Managing the delivery of about 30 projects per year, working closely with project engineers, maintenance, asset, and engineering teams
  • Developing an overall program schedule and ensuring progress is on track
  • Coordinating milestone sign-offs such as ARB, PML, SCE, and BOM
  • Establishing and enforcing project governance (controls/stage gates)
  •  Managing risks, issues, and decision logs, and taking corrective actions as necessary
  • Requesting, justifying, and managing the project budget
  • Overseeing the execution of Change Management and communication plan
  • Ensuring the right resources are deployed in the right areas and managing their utilizatio
  • Ensuring that project execution documentation is complete and ready
  • Managing stakeholder expectations and communication
  • Chairing steering committee meetings and organizing project team meetings
  • Managing the interface with various Greenfield Projects and resolving issues related to vendor and engineering data
  • Managing maintenance-related projects to Asset/Statement of Fitness milestones
  • Resolving performance issues and taking corrective actions
  • Analyzing issues and assessing their impact on the schedule, and advising the MMS PM of suggested options/path forward
  • Chairing weekly progress meetings for different disciplines (Client’s, Wood, LTTS/Shell TAO)
  • Managing resource deployment and the necessary travel requirements
  • Tracking and reporting on progress versus the plan
  • Updating the dashboard weekly
  • Coordinating data gathering exercises and field physical verification activities.
  • The CMMS Project Manager should be able to manage all these challenges effectively to ensure the successful delivery of the project within budget and to the agreed standards.

Skills / Qualifications

  • At least 10-15 years’ experience working in oil and gas industry.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Maintenance and/or Operations Readiness
  • Degree in Engineering
