Community Health Worker

📍 Location: Domiz1 Refugee Camp & Sharia IDP Camp

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Community Health Worker to conduct door-to-door health outreach, health screening, educate community members on mental health, hygiene, and preventive health, and collaborate with other project staff to improve overall well-being in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Door-to-Door Health Outreach:
• Conduct home visits to do basic health screening, educate individuals and families on mental health, hygiene, and general well-being.
• Raise awareness about gender-based violence (GBV), its prevention, and available support services.
• Provide basic health guidance and identify individuals who may need further medical or psychological assistance.
2. Health Education:
• Offer informational sessions on maintaining good health practices and promoting community well-being.
• Provide guidance and referrals for individuals needing additional health resources.
3. Collaboration with Project Teams:
• Work closely with the Community Engagement and Mental Health Support Specialist to integrate mental health education into outreach efforts.
• Support the Trainer for Recreational Activities in incorporating health-focused messages into community events.
Qualifications & Requirements:
✅ Nurses are strongly preferred, but candidates from other related fields may apply.
✅ Prior experience in health education, community outreach, or social work (preferred).
✅ Strong understanding of basic health principles, mental health awareness, and hygiene practices.
✅ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
✅ Ability to travel within Domiz1 and Sharia IDP camps for outreach activities.
