Job description


Overall purpose
The Team Leader of community health workers is responsible for the team of community health workers and is responsible for preparing and implementing their activities in Rabia Sub District, and for promoting, maintaining and improving individual and group health of the community by helping and encouraging the community to adopt healthy behaviors.


Responsibilities and scope of duties
·         Ensure the motivation and cohesion of the team of community health workers

·         Planning, supervision and participation in training sessions for community health workers.

·         Organize and facilitate team meetings

·         Centralize all data collected by community health workers

·         Forward data collected to the Deputy Project Manager and related MEAL staff.

·         Communicate regularly with the Project Manager and Deputy Project Manager

·         Identify requirements in terms of key messages and report them to the project manager.

Participating regularly in training courses or information sessions

Specific goals and related activities
1.    Supervising and training community health workers

·         Train and support the team of community health workers in designing health and hygiene promotion interventions.

·         Supervise a team of community health workers in the field.

·         Develop information, education and communication tools in cooperation with the team and other staff of the organization as required.

·         Accompany the community health workers in preparing the campaign: Make sure they have the necessary equipment and materials.

·         Suggest innovative methods to meet the needs of the target population

2.    Health and hygiene and promote data collection and reporting

·         Responsible for planning, monitoring and evaluation of health promotion and health education programs in the targeted areas.

·         Suggest necessary / potential adjustments to health and hygiene activities in order to improve project efficiency.

3.    Meetings / coordination

·         Debrief daily with the rest of the team.

·         Attending the weekly organization team meeting.

·         Coordinate with other stakeholders on the ground – within the organization but also other NGOs in the area for a smooth, efficient and effective implementation of health and hygiene promotion.

4.    Reporting / communication preparation

·         Participate in writing the report of the activity or event

·         Organize the information collected by the team, and form a database assessing all pregnant women in the area.

5.    Other duties

·         Ensure that the activities of the primary health care center are linked with the respective team leaders.

·         Supporting the realization of any other activities such as vaccination campaigns, surveying etc. According to needs and as directed.
