Job Overview
Summary
Responsible for managing all aspects of the electrical power infrastructure within the data center facility. This includes planning, designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting power systems to ensure continuous availability and optimal performance of IT equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Power Systems Implementation: Oversee the installation and commissioning of power systems and equipment. Ensure compliance with safety standards and local electrical codes.
- Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Conduct regular inspections, maintenance, and testing of electrical equipment to identify potential issues and ensure proper functioning.
- Troubleshoot and resolve power-related problems in a timely manner.
- Energy Efficiency: Implement measures to improve the energy efficiency of power systems and reduce overall power consumption in the data center, keeping environmental considerations in mind.
- Emergency Response: Be part of the data center\’s emergency response team to handle power-related emergencies or outages effectively.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all power-related activities, including electrical diagrams, maintenance logs, and equipment inventory.
- Vendor Management: Work with vendors and suppliers to procure electrical equipment, spare parts, and materials. Evaluate vendor proposals and negotiate contracts for power-related services.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with industry standards, electrical codes, and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment for data center personnel.
Competencies
- Relevant work experience in data center power engineering or electrical system design.
- Knowledge of electrical distribution systems, UPS systems (Rectifier & Inverter), Battery backup, generators, Boards, and other power equipment commonly used in data centers.
- Familiarity with electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with a diverse team.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including being on-call for emergencies.
