Coworking Space Manager

Job Overview

Unit: Coworking Space
Reports To: Executive Director
Location: The Station – Baghdad

Purpose of the Position: The Coworking Space Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations and management of The Station’s Coworking Space, ensuring an optimal working environment for members and facilitating a community that supports innovation, collaboration, and business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

        Membership Management:

  • Oversee the recruitment and retention of coworking space members.
  • Implement membership models that cater to the diverse needs of startups, freelancers, and SMEs.
  • Ensure member satisfaction through regular feedback and tailored support services.Operational Excellence:
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the coworking space, including facility management, booking systems, and event spaces.
  • Ensure the coworking space is well-maintained, secure, and meets the highest standards of professionalism and comfort.Community Building, Networking, and Startup Support:
  • Foster a vibrant coworking community by organizing networking events, workshops, and activities that encourage collaboration, knowledge sharing, and mutual support among members.
  • Facilitate meaningful connections between coworking space members and external stakeholders, including investors, mentors, industry experts, and service providers, to support business development and growth.
  • Implement initiatives and programs specifically designed to accelerate startup growth within the coworking space. This includes mentorship programs, pitch events, access to funding opportunities, and strategic partnerships that provide tangible benefits and resources to startups aiming for scalability and market penetration.Business Development and Strategic Growth:
  • Actively identify and pursue business development opportunities that enhance the value proposition of the coworking space to its members, focusing on creating pathways for startup success and growth.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and Programs Manager to align the coworking space’s strategy with The Station’s overall mission, ensuring that the space serves as a catalyst for startup development and innovation.
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of a strategic plan to attract high-potential startups and entrepreneurs to the coworking space, positioning it as a leading hub for innovation and business acceleration.

         Financial Management:

  • Prepare and manage the budget for the coworking space, ensuring cost-effectiveness and revenue growth.
  • Monitor and report on financial performance, including membership revenue, event income, and operational expenses.Programs and Services Enhancement:
  • Innovate and introduce new services and programs that add value to members, including mentorship programs, startup accelerators, and access to funding opportunities.
  • Work closely with the Programs Unit to align coworking space offerings with The Station’s broader mission and strategic objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication and networking abilities.
  • Proven track record in business development and operational management.
  • Familiarity with the startup ecosystem and the challenges faced by entrepreneurs and SMEs.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities.
