Database Administrator

Job Overview


To schedule and coordinate all database administration activities, including create logical and physical data layout, table re-organization, installing patches, upgrading the database server and application tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, patch and maintain Microsoft and Oracle Database software.
  • Creates and maintains all databases required for development, testing, and production usage.
  • Works closely with system administration to support applications or tools that connects to Oracle/MSSQL Databases.
  • Plans and implements backup and recovery of the Oracle & MSSQL databases.
  • Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges).
  • Perform database tuning and performance monitoring.
  • Provides technical support to application teams.
  • Administers all database objects, including tables, clusters, indexes, views, sequences, packages and procedures.
  • Work as part of a team and provide 24×7 support when required.
  • Good understanding of MSSQL & Oracle databases, related utilities and tools.
  • Oracle DBA 12c or 19c Certification is required.
  • MSSQL Certification is a plus.
  • Ability to perform both database and operating system performance tuning and monitoring.
  • Knowledge of database backup and recovery scenarios.
  • A sound knowledge of both database and system performance tuning.
  • Professional skills in UNIX and Windows environment and scripting master in shell.
  • Communicate information and ideas clearly and concisely, in written and orally.
  • Must be proactive and creative in finding solutions to issues that must be resolved.
  • Quickly adapt as requirements/tasks change.
  • Able to work under critical time deadlines and pressures.

Number Of Positions
2-5 years of work experience in relevant field.
Bachelor in Computer Science or related field.
