ACCOUNTABILITIES

Key relationships:

Program, Team Members, Finance, Logistics, Syrian Refugees, Camp Management, Other NGOs, Patients, and any other Beneficiary.

General objective of the position:
SAMS has been established and Operating in Gawilan Camp for over two years supervising and funding the main dental clinics in the camp as a part of the SAMS Project, the Dentist in Gawilan Camp will operate mainly in our clinic and oversee all the clinics day-to-day operations, SAMS dental clinic is the only clinic available inside the camp and has access to the camp settlers.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

• Examine patients’ medical records.
• Prepare patients for treatment (e.g. by applying oral sedation or anesthesia).
• Check teeth, gums, and other parts of the mouth, along with tests, to diagnose dental problems.
• Clean teeth and remove plaque.
• Identify tooth decay and replace cavities with fillings.
• Apply teeth-whitening treatments.
• Conduct tooth extractions and root canal procedures.
• Prescribe medication as needed.
• Educate patients on proper brushing techniques, flossing, and fluoride use.
• Promote good oral health and preventive dental care (e.g. by scheduling regular check-ups).
• Submit daily data according to SAMS templates.
• Collaborate with the line Manager in terms of submitting the needs, challenges, and areas of improvement.
• Provide analysis for the morbidity trend and adhere to the clinical protocols.
• Provide bi-weekly success stories through the cases seen and treated in the clinic.
• Receiving patients at all times during work Hours.
• Prohibition of leaving the clinic unattended during work hours.
• Adherence to fingerprint Attendance during the daily clinic Hours and Accountability for the clinic presentation and overall clinic Presence
• Any other task assigned by the Line Supervisor/Manager.

THE CANDIDATE’S REQUIREMENTS

Mandatory Qualifications required

·         The Candidate Must have graduated from the College of Dentistry

·         Has experience and Full knowledge of all dentistry Procedures.

·         Must have a minimum of two years of experience in the same field practicing as a dentist in Private or government clinics.

Languages

•         Arabic: Very good

•         Kurdish: Very good

•         English: Good

Competencies:

• Being Flexible and able to handle workload.
• Explaining procedures and treatment plans clearly to patients.
• Ability to analyze patient conditions and determine the best treatment options.

CONTRACT CONDITIONS

The salary will be defined regarding the SAMS’s Office salary scale on-going.
