Job Summary
The Sinjar Base Driver will work in direct support of the Base and programs under the overall supervision of the Fleet officer, abiding by the SP Code of Conduct. Position responsibilities include the operation of Samaritan’s Purse vehicles safely and responsibly, ensuring up-to-date proper maintenance through preventative services for the SPI vehicles. Performing all other tasks and responsibilities assigned for the benefit of Samaritan’s Purse with a generous and serving spirit.
Job Duties:
- Drive the staff to and from their assigned location almost daily. Locations include Sinjar, Sinuni, Villages around, Mosul, Duhok, and Erbil.
- Perform tasks as instructed by the line manager as needed.
- Be on time to pick up staff and never come late.
- Ensure the safety of the vehicle, goods, self, and SP staff at all times
- Maintain professional cleanliness and appearance of the vehicles at all times, both inside and outside
- Complete daily inspection of the vehicle, assuring the following are working:
- Headlights
- Brake indicator light
- Brake fluid is at an operational level
- Radiator fluid is at an operational level
- Power steering fluid is at an operational level
- Engine oil is at an operational level
- Windshield fluid is at an operational level
- Proactively perform routine maintenance and inspection on vehicles. Respond to any issues in a timely and appropriate manner, communicating issues and actions required to the line manager.
- Complete daily vehicle log, recording the details of tasks and journeys made throughout the day
- Adhere to the organization’s safety, and security rules
- Able to drive Hilux, Van, and or bus (manual and automatic).
- Enforce the SP policy that ALL employees wear their seatbelts when the vehicle is on and moving.
- Exhibit a generous and serving spirit while performing all duties and responsibilities
- Adhere to the SPI policies and regulations, obeying all governmental road laws.

Education / Experience Needed
- Must possess a valid driver’s license for Iraq (preferably a GOI license). A general license to operate a Coaster Bus is preferred.
- Must have a valid ID for passing through checkpoints
- Must pass the SP driving test

Arabic and Kurdish required (spoken and written), English preferred
