E&C Engineer -Thermal Power Plant

Role: Senior E&C Engineer for monitoring & evaluating E&C works in thermal power plant

 

 

Job Description & Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and evaluating the performance of Electrical &Control (E&C) departments in the proper implementation of programs, timely service and maintenance processes of equipment, improvement and optimization projects related to E&C equipment, facilities, instructions, etc.
  • Analyzing the results and performance reports of the processes and providing feedback to the reference managements and authorities.
  • Monitoring the effective implementation of safety, health and environmental principles and requirements by the operating staff.
  • Monitoring the proper execution of efficiency and capacity tests & calibrations of equipment’s.
  • Studying the operation shift report to know the latest status of the units, existing problems and activities performed also Identifying and analyzing technical defects and issues related to the field of E&C equipment, facilities.

6- Finding root causes and providing suggestions and solutions to the team members to be aware in time about the technical problems and issues related to the field of E&C equipment and facilities.

7- Monitoring Effective cooperation with operation engineer, HSE and other team members in setting up and

resuming the activities of the units after the end of periodic visits and repairs.

8- Monitoring the request of materials from the warehouse or purchase order, stocks inventory & spares lists.

9- Monitoring the technical documents and drawings in the field of E&C and following up on corrective cases.

10-Monitoring the implementation of necessary measures in order to ensure the adequacy of calibration

documents and technical certificates of the equipment used before the start of repair and inspection

programs.

11-Monitoring of quality documents for the purchased equipment and technical parts related to E&C

equipment, facilities.

12-Preparing and submitting the required reports & all required documents related to E&C works to direct

manager.

13-Effective presence in meetings.

14-Responsible to monitoring for all activities relating to the daily maintenance works of the power plant inclusive

of planning and implementation of plant maintenance (E&C).

15-To communicate effectively with the operating team relative to the condition of the plant equipment and

performance.

16- monitoring the implementation of necessary measures in order to ensure the adequacy of calibration

measures.

17- monitoring quality inspection of purchased equipment and technical parts related to equipment of control and

Instrumentation.

Role of E&C Engineer Requirements:

-Education:

Bachelor in Electrical or Control Engineering.

-Experience: 

  1. (15+ years) experience in Power plant maintenance, advantage if work in Thermal power plant or combined

cycle power plant.

  1. Proven experience in Emerson- Ovation system is advantage.
  2. Proven experience in Siemens PCS7 systems is advantage.
  3. Proven experience in calibrating instruments with all types, valves with all types…etc. is a must.
  4. Proven experience on large sizes generators is a must.
  5. Proven experience in HV & MV equipment’s up to 132KV rating (transformers, breakers, C.T.’s,

P.T.’s…etc.) is a must.

  1. Proven experience in electrical control, interlock, protection theory, systems and related

applications are must.

  1. Proven experience in LV systems and switch gears is a must.
  2. Proven experience in D.C. systems and equipment’s is a must.
  3. Proven experience with international electrical codes & standards is a must.

 

 

 

– Abilities:

 

  1. Read and understand technical manuals / electrical & Control drawings and all power plant documents and numbering system.
  2. Basic knowledge of hydraulics / pneumatics shall be an advantage.
  3. Basic knowledge of PLC programming & actual draughting shall be an advantage.
  4. Knowledge of HFO / Thermal power plant operations and maintenance – Organizational & planning skills.
  5. Trouble Shooting / Problem solving skills.
  6. General computer skills.
  7. Languages: English, Kurdish is a must, Arabic is a plus.
  8. Reporting Skills.

9.Team work skills.

10.Quality and environment – Organizing Skills.

11.Training Skills.

  1. Safety & Environmental Knowledge. Ability to comprehend and adhere to health and safety

regulations and standards.
