Electrical Technician (Local National)

Job Overview

BASIC PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Carry out the duties of an Electrical Maintenance Technician on a wide range of process plant and utilities equipment and systems whilst working safely and in strict compliance with Company and regulatory requirements.

Work will be undertaken on a wide variety of HV & LV power generation and distribution equipment, and control systems associated with the oil and gas production machinery, and utilities system equipment together with domestic systems supporting the camp and accommodation etc.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Carry out Electrical maintenance on a wide variety of HV & LV Electrical power generation and distribution equipment as  directed by the E&I Supervisor
Provide Electrical Isolations once Competent and as directed by the E&I supervisor.
Use of Maximo (CMMS) to carry out and record maintenance as per the planned maintenance routines within the system.
Use of Maximo (CMMS) to carry out corrective maintenance activities and record data/history within the system
Monitors plant machinery and identifies abnormal situations, taking appropriate actions to prevent failure.
Understands production targets and how the electrical Maintenance team can influence delivery of these targets
Complete appropriate training to gain an understanding of the criticality associated with carrying out site checks and gas checks prior to commencing work.
Work alongside Operations Technicians and assist in the commissioning and start-up of plant and equipment, to build knowledge levels.
Train towards attaining a dedicated emergency response role within the site team.

QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING(S) REQUIRED

ESSENTIAL

Formal education and qualification to Technical Diploma level
Formal Electrical Craft skills training
CEP (Competent Electrical Person)

PREFERRED

Formal electrical Maintenance Qualification – Internationally recognised.

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

ESSENTIAL

Practical knowledge and experience of working on HV & LV Industrial equipment associated with  Oil & Gas production, Process and Utilities systems  in the role of Electrical Technician.

Experience of working with Power Generation and Distribution systems.

Experience of working on Electrical equipment in Hazardous Areas.

Understanding of the actions to be taken in the case of an Emergency on the plant or associated facilities outages.

Proven ability to meet the requirements of a Competency Assessment Programme,

Familiar with permit to work systems, isolation procedures and safety management systems.

Good understanding of Electrical safety rules and  industry HSE practices applicable to job role

PREFERRED

Experience as Authorised Electrical Person
Experience of working in a high H2S process plant.
Experience of working in a project environment.
Ability to interpret/mark-up technical (electrical/mechanical) drawings.
