English Content Developer and Editor- Marketing and Communications

Job Overview

  • Conceptualizes, creates, and executes communications strategies and opportunities for the institution’s events, leadership, partnerships, faculty, and students
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of proprietary data, materials, and other sensitive information
  • Liaises with Marketing and Communications team regarding content creation and updates, prioritizes needs, and helps develop content
  • Collaborates and assists with all Marketing and Communications initiatives, informing team colleagues of opportunities and trends as part of a holistic AUIB brand outreach and development
  • Works under pressure and adheres to strict deadlines
  • Advises team on communications opportunities, including reputational risk
  • Creates English language content and materials that push the University’s mission and vision forward to identified stakeholders
  • Helps department leads manage and track strategic communications initiatives, working with direct supervisors, peers, and other internal departments, programs, and Colleges to track progress and results and inform future exposure and outreach decisions
  • Ensures accuracy and attention to detail across projects that reflect positively on AUIB’s brand and strategic priorities
  • Plans, develops, and project manages English language content assignments, as well as incoming and existing workflow, and supports the team in best practices to ensure projects are tasked and completed on time
  • Conceptualizes, researches, and executes projects and initiatives requiring a high degree of sophistication and depth of knowledge in order to promote the AUIB brand
  • Keeps leadership and other staff members informed of progress, seeking review and approval at regular intervals, as well as collects feedback from other departments
  • Other duties as required

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree/certificate or equivalent experience in Journalism, English and/or Communications
  • English language content creation experience for print, television, radio and social media
  • Five or more years’ experience in English writing for marketing or advertising campaigns
  • Can communicate fluently in English
  • Five or more years’ work experience communicating with international audiences
  • Five or more years’ work experience in an international communications marketing and campaign setting
  • Exhibits exceptional attention to detail and strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communications and writing skills

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in an international higher education setting
  • Knowledge of AP style
  • Fluency in Arabic
  • Knowledge and experience with quantitative survey and analysis techniques, developing and tracking performance metrics

Position Type: Full time/Regular, local hire or expat eligible
