Overview

Un Ponte Per (UPP) is an NGO established in 1991. It has started its activities as “Un ponte per Baghdad”, right after the end of the war in Iraq, with the aim of organizing solidarity initiatives in favor of the Iraqi civil society. Later on, the intervention of Un Ponte Per started including Serbia and other Middle Eastern and Mediterranean countries. The NGO mission is to prevent new conflicts, protect human rights and support civil society, especially in the Middle East, through humanitarian and development programs, always supporting the local civil society. UPP is active in Iraq since 1991 and is regularly registered at the National and Kurdistan Region levels.

The Project

Mubadara – funded by the European Union, aims to strengthen civic space in Iraq, and to have civil society organizations in Iraq acting as independent actors of good governance and development in their own right.

Job Description

UPP is seeking an enumerator, who will work under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, to conduct online interviews with a set of actors. The collected data will serve as a baseline for the project. The enumerator will be responsible for accurately collecting data and reporting back to the project team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The enumerator will work in close coordination with the project team and partners to organize 2 polls to measure public perception and understanding of the role of civil society in Iraq’s development. The poll will serve as a baseline for the project.
  • the enumerator will conduct online interviews with targeted actors.
  • The enumerator will verify data for accuracy and completeness.
  • The enumerator will conduct follow-up interviews as necessary to obtain missing or incomplete data.
  • The enumerator will utilize electronic devices to record data.
  • The enumerator will comply with deadlines set at the project level.
  • The enumerator will collaborate to prepare the necessary online tools.
  • The enumerator will ensure confidentiality and ethical standards in data collection.
  • The enumerator will record data accurately and efficiently.
  • The enumerator will report progress and challenges to the line manager and supervisors.

 

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENT : 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in elaborating data, including using digital tools.
  • Previous experience in research and data collection.
  • Cultural awareness and ability to build relationships quickly with a wide variety of people.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in collecting data.

Knowledge: 

  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
  • Self-reliant and able to work independently.
  • Literacy in Microsoft Office Programs.
  • Personal integrity and credibility
  • Report writing
  • Data elaboration skills.
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Patient, adaptable, flexible, able to improvise and remain responsive and communicate clearly and effectively under pressure.

Languages:

Excellent communication skills in Kurdish, Arabic and English.
