Job Description
Wood is currently recruiting for ESP field operation supervisor (Iraqi local nationals only) this position, and work pattern is 6\1, we can only consider applications from local Iraqi nationals residing in Basra and surrounding areas.
The primary responsibility and target is to take over (partially) the ESP Daily Field Service which is currently undertaken by the ESP Contractor.
The main activities include ESP well startup, shutdown, optimization, and simple trouble shooting on pump & well working conditions.
The working mode include in-house remote monitoring and wellsite patrolling on regular basis, responding to the automatic call-out by the ESP Monitoring System and the requests from his supervisors and ESP contractors.
As a crew leader, other key responsibilities include: the leadership of the Crew (for DS-6, for DS-7, for DS-8) and the instructing & mentoring of the technicians in the Crew; the implementation of WQ1 HSE regulations and ESP SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) to ensure the safety of personnel, ESP systems and wellsite surface facilities; the maximization of ESP well uptime and oil/source water production rates.
Train BOC people about the field operation including the ESP technical and HSE.
Responsibilities
ESP well monitoring
- To monitor ESP wells running performance though Remote Monitoring System.
- To inspect the ESP systems and surface facilities at wellsites for the abnormal readings from the Remote Monitoring System.
- To arrange the technician in WQ1 Field Operation Crew (for DS6, for DS7, for DS8) to respond upon the call-outs from Remote Monitoring System, FOD departments and ESP contractors.
- To coordinate FOD departments and ESP contractors to respond to the callouts from Remote Monitoring System, FOD departments and ESP contractors.
ESP wellsite patrol
- To patrol the ESP well sites as per the well patrol schedule.
- To record, inspect and report the well running performance and ensure the ESP system and well site facilities under safe and smooth-running status; to take rectification activities upon the abnormal findings and hazard identifications.
- To raise maintenance support requests for issues that can’t be resolved by the ESP Operation Crew at well sites; to follow up the maintenance and rectification work until the completion, inspection and acceptance of the maintenance work.
ESP operation and optimization
- To perform the startup and shutdown of ESP wells as per requests of the automatic call-outs from ESP Monitoring System, instructions from his supervisors, urgent notifications from other parties (Degassing Stations, SHE, etc.).
- To optimize ESP running performance through Speed/Choke size adjustment as per the request from his supervisors and ESP contractors.
- To ensure the timely operations to maximize uptime and oil/source water production.
- To perform ESP commissioning, flushing and startup after new pump installation.
- To provide support for the activities undertaken by other parties (such as wellhead maintenance, PLT and Rig/Rigless and other operation activities at well sites).
- To provide support for the planning of preventive maintenance schedules.
- When needed, to coordinate FOD Departments to accelerate well commissioning and startups after downhole ESP pump replacement
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Completion of Secondary (11 years) education plus 2 years formal vocational training leading to a Diploma.
- Basic knowledge for Mechanical/Electrical knowledge within Oil & Gas industry.
- Minimum 7 years’ working experience on ESP systems.
- Fluent in Arabic and English.
