Our Instrument Control Engineering Team uses cutting-edge technology to design gas and steam turbines, compressors and expanders.

As a Field Service Engineer, you’ll play a vital role with our customers. You will lead installation and maintenance activities and work with customers to ensure safe and compliant installations. You’ll be the onsite expert, continually developing your knowledge and skills to deliver innovative solutions for customers.

 

As a Field Services Engineer – Mechanical Heavy Duty Gas Turbines (HDGT), you will be responsible for:

  • Performing all levels of maintenance, inspection, checks, testing and troubleshooting on gas turbines, compressors and equipment.
  • Installation, commissioning & Startup of the Baker Hughes supplied equipment’s including but not limited to Gas Turbines, Centrifugal Compressor & Pumps & auxiliary systems.
  • Ability to understand and implement mechanical drawings (section Mechanical drawing for gas turbines (dwg); construction Mechanical drawing for gas turbines (dwg); Process and Instrument Diagram (P&ID); alignment specification, flushing/blowing procedure; piping specification; wiring diagram, etc.)
  • Acting as primary point of contact and trusted advisor to customers for timely and satisfactory resolution of concerns.
  • Interfacing across customers, engineering and management teams to ensure site operations and maintenance activities aligned to technical requirements.
  • Collaborating with co-workers and customers to provide technical guidance to solve complex technical problems.
  • Providing customers and management with professional and timely report related to field services activities and equipment status.
  • Ensuring all in-field activities carried out safely complying with quality, customers’ and company Health and Safety Environment (HSE) standards and procedures.

 

 

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have Mechanical Engineering Bachelor’s degree
  • Have 10+ year-Experience in Heavy duty Gas Turbine services and maintenance.
  • Have Excellent Leadership skills to manage the site crew.
  • Be Flexible to travel 70-80% on short notice.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, to convey technical concepts to customers, both internal and external.
  • Be a motivated self-starter, proactively taking initiative to lead and solve problems with technical and analytical skills.
  • Having good attitude, able to build strong relationships with internal / external stakeholders & strictly adhere to company Health Safety Environment (HSE), Quality & Compliance policy.
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills together with good interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Be a good team player, demonstrate good networking skills.
  • Demonstrate high standard ethical values

In this role, you will travel to and work on customer sites across the Asia-Pacific Region in line with customer requirements. The duration of the work at site and the hours of work at the site will be in line with customer requirements. In between work assignments, you will have free time in line with Baker Hughes working time guidelines and fatigue management provisions. You will also accrue annual leave which you can then take to extend your time off.
