Duties and responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate a team of data collectors, ensuring they follow established protocols and guidelines during door-to-door surveys using Survey CTO and other tools.
  • Oversee the collection and recording of data, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency in the data captured by the team.
  • Participate in data collection efforts including qualitative and quantitative data
  • Conduct quality checks on collected data, identifying and addressing any errors or inconsistencies, and providing feedback to data collectors for improvement.
  • Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of respondent information throughout the data collection process, maintaining high ethical standards.
  • Manage and maintain data collection equipment, including tablets, smartphones, and other digital tools, ensuring the team has the necessary resources for efficient data collection.
  • Compile and submit daily progress reports on data collection activities, highlighting achievements, challenges, and any issues encountered to project managers.
  • Facilitate regular meetings and training sessions for data collectors, providing guidance, support, and necessary updates to ensure efficient data collection operations.
  • Respond to queries and concerns from respondents and team members, offering clear and accurate information about the survey purpose and process.
  • Enforce adherence to safety and security protocols during fieldwork, ensuring the safety of both team members and respondents at all times.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Higher Education graduate
  • Team management and interpersonal skills
  • Previous experience in research and data collection, including using digital tools such as SurveyCTO.
  • Arabic language is required, Kurdish and English are advantageous.
  • Report writing skills in Arabic is required and in English is advantageous
  • Cultural awareness and ability to build relationships quickly with a wide variety of people.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in collecting data.
  • Experience with household surveys and community-based research are required.
  • Experience with Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) are required
  • Previous experience in data collection, particularly in health-related and AVR surveys, would be advantageous.
