It started its work in 2012 with a youth initiative through the efforts of a group of young people. DAR is registered and licensed in France. DAR seeks to meet the needs of those affected by armed conflicts and other situations of violence and it aims to improve the quality of people’s lives and support all civil society members to build sustainable, healthy, and productive societies.

Job Title: Finance Officer

Reporting to: CFO

Department: Finance

Location: Iraq/Erbil – covering:  Syria/NES

 

Job Purpose:

  1. Financial Management: The Finance Officer is responsible for managing the company’s financial resources efficiently. This involves overseeing budgets, monitoring cash flow, and ensuring financial stability.
  2. Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. These reports provide insights into the company’s financial performance and help guide decision-making.

3.Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and maintain the organization’s budgets, working closely with various departments to allocate resources effectively. Additionally, they may be involved in financial forecasting to plan for future financial needs and challenges.

  1. Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas of concern. They may assess the financial implications of business decisions and recommend actions for improvement.
  2. Financial Planning and Strategy: Collaborate with senior management in developing financial strategies and long-term financial plans to support the organization’s objectives and growth.
  3. Cost Control: Identify cost-saving opportunities and work towards optimizing expenses while maintaining operational efficiency.
  4. Continuous Improvement: Seek opportunities to streamline financial processes, improve financial reporting, and enhance overall financial operations.

 

key Activities/Tasks/Duties

  1. Financial Reporting: Preparing accurate and timely financial reports, such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  2. Budgeting and Forecasting: developing and maintaining budgets, working with various departments to allocate resources effectively, and engaging in financial forecasting for future financial planning.
  3. Financial Analysis: Conducting financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas of concern, and assessing the financial implications of business decisions.
  4. Risk Management: Assessing and managing financial risks, implementing internal controls, and safeguarding the organization’s assets.
  5. Financial Planning and Strategy: Collaborating with senior management to develop financial strategies and long-term financial plans to support the organization’s objectives and growth.
  6. Process Improvement: Seeking opportunities to streamline financial processes, enhance financial reporting, and improve overall financial operations.
  7. Financial Controls: Establishing and maintaining financial controls to prevent fraud and ensure accuracy in financial transactions.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in Finance/Accounting. (Experience working on projects in northeastern Syria is preferred.)
  • Good Command of English, Arabic and Kurdish.
  • Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint).
