ACCOUNTABILITIES
Key relationships:
Iraq Office Staff, Vulnerable Diabetic Patients, Supervisors, Administration
General objective of the position:
The proposed program aims to improve access to diabetes management for children and youth aged 30 years and under. This will be achieved through the procurement and distribution of glucometers, lancets, and testing strips to screened beneficiaries in Greece and Iraq, in addition to the delivery of awareness-raising sessions about diabetes management by SAMS-supported health workers
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Coordinate activities on diabetes topics in support of the medical activities
- Analyze and understand local behavior and/or practices to adapt health activities to the target group
- Informing the diabetic patients about best practices to avoid deterioration
- Raising awareness on how to frequently use the glucometer and blood glucose measurement.
- Attending training to be well informed of their duties
- Conducting daily awareness sessions with diabetic people inside the clinic
- Contribute to monthly and final reports according to guidelines (statistical reports, etc.)
- Educate the client on the proper use of the diabetes device
- Facilitates communication and coordinates services between providers and patients. Coordinates and monitors services, including comprehensive tracking of clients’ compliance in relation to care plan objectives.
Collaboration and Partnerships:
- Establish partnerships with local diabetic clinics or health facilities to facilitate access to diabetic services.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders within the center
Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Implement a monitoring framework to track the progress of awareness campaigns conducted by Health promotors.
- Collect feedback from the patients to assess educational initiatives’ effectiveness and identify improvement areas.
Ethical Considerations
- Emphasize respecting cultural norms and practices while promoting Diabetic health education.
- Ensure confidentiality and sensitivity when addressing personal health-related issues.
- Develop a timeline outlining the schedule for various awareness activities and deliverables.
- Set milestones for progress evaluation and reporting.
THE CANDIDATE’S REQUIREMENTS
Mandatory Qualifications required
- Bachelor’s degree in a medical field is required.
- Minimum 1 years’ experience
Languages
- Kurdish/Arabic language is required.
- English is an advantage.
Competencies:
- Versatile paramedical or psychosocial profile
- One year of professional experience working with communities and/or local associations on
- awareness-raising, prevention, mobilization and/or community strengthening
- Familiar with a community-based approach
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

CONTRACT CONDITIONS
The salary will be defined as per SAMS Iraq Office on-going salary scale.
