Overview of the Position:
The Iraqi Institution for Development (IID) is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to join
our dynamic team as a Human Resources Officer. This critical position will play a pivotal role in advancing
IID’s mission and contributing to our impactful work in the development sector.
Key Responsibilities:
As an HR Officer at IID, He/She will be responsible for a diverse range of tasks aimed at fostering a positive
and productive work environment. Key responsibilities include:
1. Talent Acquisition:
• Lead the recruitment process, from posting job vacancies to conducting interviews and
selecting qualified candidates.
• Collaborate with department heads to identify staffing needs and ensure timely filling of
vacancies.
2. Employee Relations:
• Act as a liaison between employees and management, addressing concerns, and fostering
a positive workplace culture.
• Implement and oversee employee engagement initiatives to enhance team cohesion.
3. Performance Management:
• Develop and implement performance appraisal systems to assess employee performance
and facilitate professional development.
• Advise and guide managers on performance-related matters.
4. Compliance and Policies:
• Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
• Develop and update HR policies and procedures in line with best practices.
5. Training and Development:
• Identify training needs, coordinate training programs, and support employees in their
professional growth.
• Implement strategies to enhance staff skills and capabilities.
Qualifications and Requirements:
To excel in this role, the ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:
1. Educational Background:
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
2. Professional Experience:
• A minimum of five years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with a focus on
NGO settings.
• Proven track record of successfully managing HR functions in a dynamic and fast-paced
environment.
3. NGO Expertise:
• In-depth knowledge of HR practices specific to non-governmental organizations.
• Understanding of the challenges and opportunities unique to the NGO sector.
4. Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with employees at
all levels.
• Ability to work collaboratively and maintain confidentiality.
