Job Overview
Job Purpose:
The Production HSE Operator independently ensures daily that all production related HSE matters in their allocated Production Facility and associated well sites are adequately addressed in line with GKP and international best practice, laws and guidelines and based on the input by the Production HSE Supervisor.
Responsibilities and Key Objectives:
– Ensuring that all field related HSE activities are being conducted to the highest safety and industrial standards in order safe and reliable operation and production.
– Ensuring that all field related HSE targets, objectives and KPI are met.
– Follows and promotes the HSE Culture towards Safety First and continuous improvement.
– Conducts both, daily and planned activities.
– Conducts inspections and audits.
– Supports incident investigations in line with GKP procedures.
– Liaises with all referring operational staff.
– Ensures regular, accurate and timed reporting to the Production HSE Supervisor.
– Supports the improvement of the HSE Management System, including all related documentation and tools.
– Raises HSE awareness and behavior within all field related operations.
– Conducts HSE training of all operational staff and others assigned by the Production HSE Supervisor.
– Capability to lead safety meetings and promote a safety-first culture.
– Conducts and attends safety meetings, toolbox talks, pre-shift meetings, etc. of all operational staff and all operational activities.
– Ensures maintenance and operability of HSE equipment for 100% uptime.
Education:
– University degree in a relevant field.
– Formal HSE training as IOSH/NEBOSH certificate or similar.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Technical
– Minimum 5 years in Oil & Gas / Petrochemical industry with HSE capability in operational and technical aspects.
– Hands on experience in implementing HSE in oil and gas production facilities, at well sites, rig sites and associated equipment and assets.
– Conversant with international HSE standards such as IOGP and HSE UK.
Solid knowledge of and experience in:
– Operational HSE tool as TRAs, JSAs, PtW, HSE Plans.
– Comprehensive understanding of HSE policies and procedures.
– Has an understanding in HSE Management and related tools.
– Has an understanding in Management of Change (MoC) process.
– Has an understanding in Root Cause Analysis.
– Has an understanding in Incident investigation tools as BSCAT, Kelvin Top Set or similar.
– Has an understanding in Emergency and Crisis Management.
– Has the ability to independently produce HSE related documentation.
– Is capable of leading people.
Personal:
– Has the ability to think on their feet and has good problem-solving skills.
– Excellent communication skills in both English and Kurdish (spoken and written).
– Must have good interpersonal skills, and be able to work collaboratively and constructively in a dynamic and changing work environment, both individually and as part of the HSE team.
– Willing to complete a 7-14-day rotation on a production facility or remote site.
– Intermediate to advanced skill in MS Office applications.
– Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to develop and deliver HSE training programs.
– Adequate organization skills.
– Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize work activities effectively.
– Adequate presentation and training skills.
– Must be a team player.
