HSE Supervisor

Position Responsibilities Summary:

We are looking for experienced, Health, safety, and environmental (HSE) Supervisors who are responsible for implementing health and safety policies in an organization. These professionals have the duty of detecting dangerous conditions, reviewing safety procedures, disseminating safety information to various departments, training staff on safety topics, and running emergency exercises.

Duties & Responsibilities:

HSE Supervisor Responsibility:

1. Health and Safety supervisor the identification and remediation of hazardous workplace conditions.
2. Oversees the measurement and sampling of hazardous materials, and removal of physical, biological, and chemical hazards.
3. An HSE supervisor investigates, analyzes, and reports on any accidents or unsafe events and suggests remedial and preventative actions.
4. Develops a safety-conscious culture by providing workforce education on first aid, emergency/safety procedures, and regulations.
5. HSE supervisor ensures all necessary records are maintained and are following all applicable federal and state health and safety regulations.
6. To lead and manage a variety of Health, Safety & Environmental activities for work sites (Hoisting and Lifting with crane environment and projects including overseeing the fire safety measures and rules).
7. Ensuring that equipment is installed correctly/safely
8. Review and develop the Risk assessment of all high-risk activities – Lifting and hoisting
9. Drawing-up safe operational procedures
10. Keeping up to date with developments within the profession
11. Making presentations to groups of employees/managers.
12. Providing health and safety training courses for employees and managers
13. Investigating/recording incidents, accidents, complaints, and cases of ill health
14. Writing reports, bulletins, and newsletters
15. Undertaking risk assessments, Liaising with relevant authorities
16. Organizing/attending health and safety meetings
17. Any other duties as assigned by – or via the supervisory line

Qualification & preferred skills:

• Proven work experience as an HSE Supervisor or similar role with the international oil and Gas industry, in relevant fields (Construction/manufacturing/ Semi-Con/logistics), operating in Kurdistan Region.
• A bachelor’s degree in a health, safety, or environmental field of study
• Minimum 5 years experience in health and safety.
• Fluency in English &Kurdish and Arabic (speaking, reading, and writing).
• HSE Qualification such as NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
• Must be able to communicate, present and influence internal & external stakeholders.
• Familiar with Hoisting and Lifting in Cranes environment
• In-depth knowledge of legislation (e.g. OSHA/EPA) and procedures
• Proficient in all Microsoft Applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Good organization skills and leadership skills.
