HVAC-R Technician Lead

Mount compressor, condenser units, and air handler using hand tools with the following blueprint, engineering specifications, and manufacturer recommendations.
Fabricate, assemble, and install ductwork using sheet metal hand tools and shop fabrication equipment.
Measure, cut, and assemble PVC and copper tubing and fittings, including braze/soldering copper/copper, copper/brass, and copper/steel.
Connect blower motors (1/4-70hp), compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls, and connect control panels to the power source.
Replace defective breaker controls, contactors, thermostats, switches, fuses, and electrical wiring to repair installed units using the electrician’s hand tools.
Install, repair, maintain, and service air conditioners, including filters.
Work independently, delegate assignments, and responsibility, and direct subordinates to meet schedules and objectives.

A minimum of 5 years experience in Operations and Maintenance services, with a minimum of 3 years experience in physical plant and building operations of large facilities.
The ability to evaluate operational effectiveness; develop/maintain effective operational control mechanisms, and prepare, justify, and administer staff.
Ability to collect, analyze, and summarize data and prepare daily reports and work orders.
Must have good organizational and communication skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently.
Strongly preferred is extensive experience with air-cooled chillers with screw compressors.
Required is DX experience on larger units (5-100 tons).
Must have hands-on experience with repairs, troubleshooting, and maintenance on these types of systems.
Strongly preferred is either completion of an Apprentice program with a Journeyman.
Certificate, and/or have a Universal HVAC/Refrigeration Certificate and/or have an AAS degree in HVAC/R from a two-year college, and/or equivalent field experience.
Must have at least a high school diploma or GED.
