IRC224276 – INSTRUMENTATION AND AUTOMATION ENGINEER

At Eni, we are looking for an Instrumentation and Automation Engineer within the Zubair Field Operating Division in ZubairIraq. You will be responsible for providing specialist engineering expertise for instrumentation and automation design, from conceptual up to detailed engineering and execution, for onshore field development projects, and you will ensure that contractor instrumentation and automation design and specifications meet project requirements, Company standards and industry best practices. You will also develop instrumentation and automation technical solutions for interfaces between work packages/contractors assuring overall consistency, compliance with project approved plans and integrity. In addition, you will also support site supervision team on the correct application of the instrumentation and automation engineering deliverables during the execution, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.

As a member of the Engineering Department, you will be responsible for:

  • Defining concept design of instrumentation and control system for onshore facilities.
  • Defining concept design of telecommunication system including PAGA System and Fibre Optic network.
  • Defining concept design of WHCP (Wellhead Control Panel), including flowline instrumentation and RTU (Remote Telemetry Unit).
  • Coordinating internal and subcontracted instrumentation and automation design.
  • Engineering documents review, in compliance with Company specifications and international standards
  • Ensuring engineering activities are performed in line with the project plan and within the approved budget.
  • Performing site surveys and developing field engineering solutions.
  • Material selection and specifications.
  • ITT preparation (technical specification) and bid technical evaluation.
  • Supporting commissioning and start up team reviewing engineering documents for pre-commissioning and commissioning activities of instrumentation and control system.
  • Ensuring timely approval of instrumentation and automation engineering deliverables.

  • Engineering degree
  • Extensive experience in the Oil & Gas industry or related construction industry.
  • Adequate experience in instrumentation and automation engineering for onshore Oil & Gas EPC projects.
  • Experience in overseas assignments.
  • Fluent English, written and spoken.
  • Proactive HSE attitude.
  • Delivery oriented engineering abilities.
  • Self-sufficient, problem-solving attitude, with ability to work under limited line management supervision.
  • Management of multiple tasks with limited timeframe.
  • Adequate knowledge of local and international codes and regulations for onshore O&G industry.
  • Good team player, with adequate communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills with technical interfaces (internal and external)
  • Confidence with standard, code, computer software packages like AUTOCAD, SmartPlant Instrumentation, Valves sizing software (i.e. Instrucalc).
