Background:

The USAID-funded Ta’afi Program is working towards a more inclusive and prosperous Iraq by empowering Iraqis to lead positive change. Ta’afi does this by working with Iraqi partners to organize the community to address local issues and mobilize around common causes affecting all of Iraq.

We are excited to announce a valuable internship opportunity with our company in Erbil, Iraq. The details of the internship program are as follows:

  1. Internship Duration: 4 months
  2. Publishing date 14th of March to 14th  of April, 2024.
  3. Internship Start Date: May 2024.
  4. Internship End Date: September 2024.
  5. Location: Erbil, Iraq.
  6. Stipends: the Intern $15.00 for each day of travel to the Company’s office and a $16.00 food allowance for each day working for 4 hours or more.
  7. Advertisement Duration: 1 Month.
  8. Number of Internships: 10 in various departments.
  9. The advertised internship positions are unpaid. However, travel and meal allowance is provided to the interns based on the actual days worked.

Scope of Work

  1. Participates in filing documents online and offline that meets project’s compliance with Chemonics requirement, policies, and procedures.
  2. Assisting department/s with printing, scanning and archiving paperwork.
  3. Take part in assisting departments in drafting documents including contracts, modifications, purchase requests, expense reports, cash advance etc. based on the department the intern will be working in.
  4. Do the data entry and update trackers of the assigned department.
  5. Assists supervisors for daily administrative tasks including reviewing documents or following up with employees, partners, or vendors.
  6. Participate in meetings and take notes if required.
  7. Schedule meetings and arrange invitations with internal/external parties.
  8. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  1. Completed Bachelor’s degree – Fresh graduate
  2. Strong organizational and administrative skills
  3. Flexibility, creativity, and the ability to maintain a rapid and demanding pace of work.
  4. Ability to work in a professional and cordial manner with fellow staff members, visitors, and partner institutions, including international and local NGOs, governmental entities, support organizations, and the general public.
  5. Working proficiency in basic office computer applications including MS Word and Excel
  6. Fluency in written and oral Kurdish and English is required; written and oral fluency in other local languages including Arabic is a plus.
