Background:
CESVI is an Italian NGO working for global solidarity. CESVI operates worldwide to support the most vulnerable populations in promoting human rights and achieving their ambitions, for sustainable development.
CESVI has been working in Iraq since 2018, focusing on the sectors of livelihoods, multi-purpose cash transfer, agriculture, and food security. More recently, CESVI has started a new program in the protection sector, in particular, GBV.
The Project Coordinator is the main person responsible for the programmatic and financial planning and management of the project activities.
Project Name:
Self-Reliance – Promoting self-sufficiency and sustainable economic and professional opportunities for vulnerable families affected by the crisis in Iraq.
Background and Rationale:
The Emergency and Resilience Livelihoods intervention in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, implemented by a consortium composed of Cesvi Fondazione Onlus and Terre des hommes (TdH) and funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), aims to support vulnerable categories, including refugees, displaced persons, and host communities. As part of this project, Activity 1 focuses on supporting small and medium-sized entrepreneurs through business development activities. To ensure the success of this activity, the project seeks experienced mentors who can provide guidance and support to the beneficiaries.
Objectives:
Facilitate the legal registration of 42 Micro, Small, Medium, and Innovation businesses with the Chamber of Commerce in both Duhok / Erbil locations. The entire process, including paperwork and registration fees, will be handled by the legal representative.
Scope of Work:
The lawyers will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Conduct an initial assessment of business documentation and requirements.
- Prepare and organize the necessary paperwork for each of the 42 businesses.
- Liaise with the Chamber of Commerce offices in Duhok and Erbil for seamless registration.
- Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations for each business category.
- Coordinate with Cesvi for the payment of registration fees on behalf of the businesses.
- Verify and collect all required legal documents from each business.
- Complete and submit the registration forms to the Chamber of Commerce in Duhok and Erbil.
- Communicate with Cesvi to facilitate the timely payment of registration fees.
- Address any queries or additional requirements from the Chamber of Commerce during the registration process.
- Provide regular updates to Cesvi and businesses on the status of the registration.
Reporting:
Regular progress reports will be submitted to Cesvi, detailing the status of each business registration. Any challenges or issues encountered during the process will be promptly communicated.
Payment:
Cesvi will be responsible for covering all registration fees associated with the Chamber of Commerce registration process. The legal representative will coordinate with Cesvi to ensure timely and accurate payments.
Communication:
Maintain open communication channels with both Cesvi and the businesses throughout the registration process. Promptly address any concerns or inquiries raised by the businesses or Cesvi.
Compliance:
Ensure strict adherence to local laws and regulations governing business registration in both Duhok and Erbil. Any changes in legal requirements will be promptly communicated and addressed.
By accepting this TOR, the legal representative agrees to undertake the responsibilities outlined herein and complete the registration process efficiently and in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
