It is one of the local civil society organizations operating in Iraq since 2004. Its vision is to combat all forms of violence against women and girls and to ensure legal protection, equality, and respect for all human rights of women and girls.

General Description:

Provide legal advice and representation to natural and legal persons in legal matters. Conduct legal research, prepare legal documents, and represent women and girls who have survived violence in personal status court proceedings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal protection for women and girls who have survived violence.
  • Build relationships with law enforcement agencies that in turn provide the necessary legal support to beneficiaries.
  • Develop a strategy that ensures the acquisition of a larger number of cases and, consequently, the increase in the number of beneficiaries with the same available resources.
  • Monitor laws and regulations that are related to the assigned work.
  • Represent women in court by pleading on their behalf and alongside them in front of courts and legal institutions in relation to legal and administrative cases.
  • Follow up on the progress of lawsuits in court, and supervise the collection of evidence and proofs that could help support the position of women beneficiaries.
  • Prepare daily and periodic reports on the tasks performed or performed.
  • Implement all tasks assigned to him/her in the field of specialization.
  • Any work assigned by the direct supervisor.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in law.
  • Licensed lawyer with at least two years of experience.
  • Experience in drafting, negotiating, and reviewing legal documents.
  • Analytical thinker with strong research and conceptual skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills.
