Work Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Logistics Manager to oversee and manage the transportation, storage, and distribution of machinery and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of supply chain management in the machinery or heavy equipment industry and possess excellent problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills. This role is critical to ensuring that our products are delivered on time, within budget, and meet our quality standards.

Duties & Responsibility

  • Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize the movement of machinery, parts, and equipment within the supply chain.
  • Analyze logistics data to identify cost-saving opportunities, reduce transit times, and improve service levels.
  • Plan and oversee the entire logistics process, from procurement to delivery, ensuring the seamless flow of goods.
  • Collaborate with production and inventory teams to forecast material needs and coordinate the timely delivery of machinery components.
  • Manage and coordinate the transportation of machinery, ensuring timely delivery to customers, dealers, and partners.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with third-party logistics providers, freight carriers, and other suppliers to ensure reliable service.
  • Oversee transportation budgets, track transportation costs, and ensure that shipments stay within budgeted limits.
  • Monitor vehicle and carrier performance, ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.
  • Coordinate with inventory management and warehouse teams to ensure the accurate and efficient movement of machinery parts and finished products.
  • Ensure proper documentation for shipments, including bills of lading, shipping orders, and delivery receipts.
  • Monitor stock levels of machinery components and spare parts, placing orders to prevent inventory shortages or overstocking.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage logistics staff, including warehouse teams, transport coordinators, and dispatch personnel.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and training sessions to ensure team members are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment that promotes safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with international, national, and local transportation regulations, including customs and import/export requirement and ability to collaborate and coordinate with suppliers and various clearing agencies
  • Maintain accurate records of all logistics activities, including shipment tracking, delivery schedules, and inventory movements.
  • Prepare reports and provide analysis of logistics operations to senior management.
  • Identify potential risks in logistics operations and develop contingency plans to address any disruptions in the supply chain.
  • Resolve transportation, delivery, and logistical challenges promptly to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Handle any claims or disputes related to shipments, damages, or delays.
  • Stay updated with the latest logistics technologies and industry best practices, implementing new systems and processes as necessary.

Work experience & skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or transportation, preferably within the machinery, construction, or automotive industry.
  • Proven experience in managing logistics teams and overseeing complex supply chains.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics processes, including transportation, warehousing, distribution, and inventory management.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Solid understanding of transportation regulations and customs requirements.
  • Analytical skills to assess and improve logistics operations.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt to changing conditions.
  • Ability to travel for on-site visits or to meet with external suppliers and partners, as required.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and resolve conflicts effectively.

Work Conditions:

  • Full-time position with standard working hours. Occasional overtime may be required.
  • Office environment with time spent in warehouses, factories, and at transport hubs.
  • Some travel may be required for supplier visits or site inspections.
