Jiyan Foundation for Human Rights is a charitable organization supporting survivors of human rights violations, defending fundamental freedoms, and promoting democratic values throughout the world. Our programs provide mental health, medical treatment, and other support services to survivors of trauma, terror, domestic violence, and human rights violations.

We are seeking applications for the following position:

Position: Logistics Officer

Status: Full-time employee (40 Hours/Week)

Based: Alqosh, Iraq

Required Degree: Bachelor’s Degree.

Reports to: Center Manager (CM) Alqosh, Head of Finance and Logistics

Duration of contract: 12 Months

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  1. Assist to arrange workshops, events, and training activities.
  2. Check log books, and inventory records and assist in the physical checks of office/field inventory.
  3. Assist with hotel bookings/travel arrangements of staff and training participants.
  4. Assist the Finance team in calculating monthly cash projections.
  5. Monitoring the validity of vendor contracts, lease agreement, and vehicle rental agreements to ensure the timely renewal of contracts.
  6. Assist in procurements by preparing PRs/RFQs, comparative sheets, and drafting the agreement.
  7. Ensure proper documentation system is in place to maintain procurement documents, vehicle log books, records of office supplies/consumables, office equipment, and project inventory.
  8. Work in close coordination with Finance/Program teams in chalking out procurement plans for smooth and timely implementation of project activities.
  9. Prepare and update vendor database on a regular basis.
  10. Ensure all documentation is in place and in compliance with policies & procedures and donor rules.
  11. Any other task assigned by the supervisor.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Fluent in Kurdish and English, Arabic is an advantage;
  2. Bachelor’s degree in Administration or management or other related departments.
  3. Good computer skills in areas of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  4. Work experience in administration and receptionist (desired).
  5. Experience in working with national and international organizations;
  6. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills;
  7. Ability to travel, including multi-day trips.
  8. Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team and cooperate with other staff members, centers, and external partners.
  9. Active interest in promoting human rights and social justice.
