Description
The Logistics Specialist is responsible for planning and executing logistics operations and managing the supply chain within the organization. Their role aims to ensure a smooth and efficient flow of materials and products from sources to customers or intended destinations. The work involves coordinating and improving logistics processes while achieving a balance between cost and efficiency.
Job Duties:
- Develop and implement logistics strategies that support the organization’s business goals.
- Plan and execute logistics strategies that meet the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Manage the movements of all procured goods and services required by the organization.
- Conduct market research to identify new shipping routes and carriers.
- Develop and implement logistics procedures and policies
- Support and optimize the supply chain operations to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Develop and manage relationships with suppliers and transportation providers.
- Manage inventory levels and ensure that goods are delivered on time and in good condition.
- Stay up-to-date with logistics regulations and ensure their practical implementation within our organization.
- Responsible to complete all procurement team requests on time and make sure that all the payments are supported with needed documents.
- Ensure to have a freight comprehension to give door to door freight fees estimation.
- Create a database of imported items for storage MT standards planning.
- Coordinate the warehousing and storage of inventory.
- Compile and analyze logistics data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare and process import/export documentation.
- Coordinate and manage forwarder billings.
- Review and record required documentations.
- Coordinate with customs brokers to ensure timely and accurate clearance of shipments.
- Manage the risk of international shipments.
- Stay up-to-date on international trade regulations.
- Provide support to other departments as needed.
- Preform other duties if required.
Requirements
Education:
- BA in Business Administration or related field.
Years of Experience
- 5 Years of experience in a related field.
Knowledge
- Good Command of English and Arabic- Written and Spoken.
- Good Command of Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint).
- ERP systems knowledge.
- GPSs Systems knowledge
- Company’s Policies and Procedures.
- Professional in supply chain work flow.
- Strong understanding of logistics principles and practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
