Purpose/objective of the position:

The Support volunteer will be responsible for all paperwork related to the Warehouse Organization, in terms of making copies, scanning, making stock cards, inventories and organizing the warehouse, in addition to following up on the clean-up process and making sure that there are signatures on all administrative papers and that they are completed correctly.

 

Generic Duties:

Logistics

  • Receiving and unpacking incoming shipments: Volunteer may help with the process of receiving, inspecting, and unpacking items delivered to the warehouse/Office.
  • Sorting and organizing inventory: Volunteer assist in sorting and categorizing products or materials, ensuring they are properly organized for storage or distribution.
  • Stocking and restocking shelves: Volunteer help maintain inventory levels by stocking shelves and replenishing items as needed.
  • Picking and packing orders: Volunteer may be involved in selecting items from the inventory and packing them according to specific orders or requests.
  • Labeling items: Volunteers help label products or materials accurately, ensuring clear identification and proper tracking.
  • Assisting with inventory control: Volunteer may assist in conducting periodic inventory checks, counting items, and updating inventory records.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness: Volunteer contribute to maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment by sweeping floors, organizing storage areas, and disposing of packaging materials.
  • Assisting with shipping and receiving: Volunteer may help with preparing outgoing shipments, labeling packages, and coordinating with shipping carriers.
  • Operating warehouse equipment: Depending on the warehouse’s operations, volunteers might be trained to operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks.
  • Following safety procedures: Volunteer must adhere to safety protocols, including wearing appropriate protective gear, lifting items correctly, and following guidelines to minimize accidents and injuries.

 

 

Person Specification:

Education and professional experience:

  • Fresh graduate, with a bachelor’s degree (regardless of the field)
  • Basic knowledge of logistics and the humanitarian context is a plus.
  • Intuitive and good in administrative works.
