Wood is currently recruiting for Mechanical and logistic Supervisor – Iraq National to strengthen our team in Basra, Iraq on a 6/1 Daily work schedule
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels and minimize excess inventory
- Conduct regular stock takes and reconciliations to ensure accurate inventory records.
- Monitor inventory levels to identify any discrepancies or imbalances.
- Warehouse materials handling e.g., OS&D checks, bagging, and tagging
- Ensure that all the material data in place and up to date for material accountability and traceability
- Implement appropriate stock replenishment strategies to minimize disruptions.
- Collaborate with procurement/engineering team to ensure timely arrival of new materials and supplies including attending meetings to update on status.
- Monitor and analyze inventory trends and forecast future demand.
- Experience with electrical and instrument cable stock management, including an understanding of cable drum schedule / drumming schedules
- Analyze inventory data to identify slow-moving or obsolete stock and recommend appropriate actions.
- Conduct cycle counts to ensure the accuracy of inventory records.
- Collaborate with the contractor’s material team to optimize material receiving
- Practice and ensure material receiving status is tracked and up to date.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings through inventory management techniques.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior management regarding inventory levels, trends, and optimization.
- Collaborate with the production team and quality control department to ensure materials are of acceptable quality.
- Inspect materials received to ensure they meet specifications.
- Coordinate with construction team to address and resolve quality issues.
- Monitor and analyze material defect, returns, and non-compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including construction, engineering, and warehouse team, to ensure smooth material flow.
- Communicate material requirements, availability, and any potential disruptions to the construction team and other stakeholders.
- good communication skill with other department to borrow material in case of emergency for construction support and replenish if required
- Should be capable to identify material physically in the yard and create surplus stock report
- Should have the knowledge in oil & gas material specification and codes such as piping/electrical/instrumentation
- Should be able suggest alternate material to engineers if MTO material is not available in stock, utilize surplus instead of buying new
- Keep good tracking for material issued to contractor to avoid duplicate issue
- Experience in Maximo in preferable or any other ERP system
- Participate in regular meetings and provide updates to lead procurement engineer on material availability.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records and trackers of all material transactions and activities.
- Schedule and coordinate transportation for materials, including domestic and international shipments.
- Track and monitor shipments to ensure timely delivery and identify any delays or disruptions.
- Coordinate the receipt, inspection, and storage of goods in the warehouse.
- Develop and implement inventory management systems to streamline logistics operations.
Qualifications
- 5 years’ experience in a similar position in the oil and gas industry
- Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent.
- Knowledge of inventory management software and systems (Maximo)-desired.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Very proficient in Microsoft excel for material management tool
- Applicants MUST have a Basra residency card.
