Job Title: Mechanical Site Engineer
Job Location: Iraq – Baghdad.
Job Type: On-site, Full Time
Job Duration: approx. 1 year leading to potential permanent position, should be able to start immediately.
Job Overview:
The Mechanical Site Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and managing the mechanical engineering activities at the construction site, ensuring that all mechanical systems are installed in compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and project timelines. This role involves coordination with the project management team, subcontractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure successful project completion.
Required Education & Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in mechanical engineering within the construction industry, preferably with exposure to large-scale building projects.
- Proficiency in English, and Arabic verbal and writing communication.
Preferred Work Skills:
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft office (Excel, Projects, …)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other design software.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, etc.).
- Ability to interpret drawings and project schedules.
- Ability to stand on your feet outdoor for 8 hours.
- Ability to Prepare Shop drawings, Details, and MTO.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Project Supervision: Oversee the installation, commissioning, and testing of mechanical systems (such as HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other building services) on-site.
- Design and Quality Control: Ensure all mechanical work complies with design specifications, quality standards, and codes. Conduct regular inspections to monitor progress, quality, and quantitiy.
- Coordination and Communication: Collaborate with project management, architects, other engineering disciplines, and subcontractors to ensure seamless integration of mechanical works with other construction activities.
- Problem Solving: Address and resolve any mechanical engineering issues or design conflicts that may arise on-site. Propose modifications as necessary to improve project efficiency and performance.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all site activities are conducted following safety protocols. Promote a safe working environment by identifying potential hazards and implementing corrective actions.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of daily site activities, equipment usage, and mechanical installation progress. Prepare and submit regular progress reports to the Project Manager.
