Mechanical Technician (Local National)

Job Overview

BASIC PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Carry out the duties of a Mechanical Technician working on a wide range of process and utilities equipment and systems whilst working safely and in strict compliance with Company and regulatory requirements.
Work will be undertaken on a wide variety of oil and gas production machinery, power generation equipment, Utilities system equipment along with domestic systems supporting the camp and living facilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Using mechanical craft and fitting skills to carryout Routine and Corrective Mechanical Maintenance tasks as directed by the Maintenance supervisor
Carry out Condition Monitoring tasks as directed by the Senior Rotating Equipment Technician and the Senior Mechanical Technician
Use of Maximo (CMMS) to carry out and record maintenance as per the planned maintenance routines within the system
Use of Maximo (CMMS to carry out corrective maintenance activities and record within the system
Monitors plant machinery and identify abnormal situations ensuring these are reported to prevent mechanical failure.
Overhaul and refurbishment of rotating equipment to the required standard such as Centrifugal pumps, compressors and Fans capturing critical settings and clearances
Develop an awareness of production targets and how the Mechanical maintenance team can influence delivery of these targets
Work alongside the Operations team and assist in the commissioning and start-up of plant and equipment, to build knowledge level as directed by the Senior Mechanical Technician
Train towards attaining a dedicated emergency response role within the site team

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

ESSENTIAL

Formal education and qualification to Technical diploma level
Formal Mechanical Craft skills training

PREFERRED

Formal Mechanical Maintenance Qualification– Internationally Recognized (.g. City & Guilds or NVQ level 3 mechanical) or Level 3 Process Engineering Maintenance – Mechanical
