Kurdistan Center for International Law (KCIL) is a non-governmental, non-partisan, non-profit, and independent center with a primary focus on research and analysis of the international law pertaining to Kurdistan’s communities. About the Project

The project (Justice Resilience Initiative – JRI) aims to restore and safeguard people’s trust in the justice system and avert potential crises in the KRI by addressing gaps that have hindered the effectiveness of the legal system and courts in delivering justice and preventing crises, this by establishing a legal framework that aligns with international human rights standards, international criminal justice, and international humanitarian norms with a focus on preventing crises, reducing injustice, and improving the performance of the judiciary, legislative, executive system. The project tries to contribute towards improving the decision-making process in the Kurdistan parliament by incorporating diverse viewpoints and ensuring that laws are drafted with a strong emphasis on respecting international standards and best practices as outlined in international human rights instruments, which is an aspect of fulfilment of the state obligation for promoting the rule of law and crisis prevention among different components in the KRI. The overarching objectives of the project are to strengthen the fundamental principles of fair trial, end of impunity, accountability, standardizing legislation process, and crisis prevention.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Devise and implement media strategies to support the project.
  • Provide recommendations on content formats, messaging, and visual elements for social media posts.
  • Working in an integrated way with project team across to identify and maximize key opportunities to use the media as a vehicle to influence policy and decision relating to the project.
  • Brainstorm, design, implement, and analyze social media campaigns, posts, and content to achieve the goals of the project, social media strategy and the overall project strategy.
  • Create consistent, meaningful, and engaging content on all social media platforms, including writing and editing social media posts, improving engagement, and promoting social media campaigns.
  • Support documentation and dissemination of project activities, including developing web content that highlights project approaches, achievements, and audience testimonials.
  • Monitor each campaign results and make data-driven recommendations for optimization.

 

Qualification & Preferred skills:

  • University degree, preferably media studies, marketing, or the other relevant professions.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in media.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of human rights standards and standards of ethics.
  • Strong organizational, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Able to take initiative and work independently.
  • Willing to travel regularly within KRI.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English and Kurdish required, Arabic is an extra asset.
