Operational Context:

 Since 2005, KSC has established a very sensitive program under the name of Health Department. This program consists of different projects in order to serve children in different communities, Refugees, IDPs, and Host Communities. The program is applicable in other government as well, Erbil, Duhok, and Kirkuk. Offering various sorts of health activities without taking religion, age, gender, ethics, and nationality into consideration. In general, health program has three main branches of supports, which are financial, social, and phycological supports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

We are looking for a caring and dedicated NICU Meical staff to join our medical team in providing round-the-clock care for premature and ill newborn infants and their families. The responsibilities of a NICU nurse include caring for infants’ basic needs, such as feeding coordinating the infants’ medical treatments with the NICU physician. The NICU nurse also offers comfort and support to premature and ill newborns and their parents and family members.

 

you should have a caring and empathetic nature, work well under pressure in a stressful environment, and be able to coordinate treatments and work with a team of neonatal healthcare professionals. A NICU Meical staff should also have a working knowledge of the complex NICU equipment used to treat at-risk newborns

 

  • Supports nursing team in providing direct patient care.
  • Provides comfort during difficult times.
  • Helps with mobility, transfers, and positioning of patients
  • Monitors and records patient vital signs
  • Reports any significant changes or abnormalities to the healthcare team
  • Performing medical procedures; for example, inserting intravenous lines, performing tests, and administering medications.
  • Ensures accurate medication administration and documentation
  • Creates and maintains a safe and clean environment for patients
  • Follows infection control protocols.
  • Performing medical procedures; for example, inserting intravenous lines, performing tests, and administering medications.
  • Maintains cleanliness of patient rooms and common areas
  • Ensures proper disposal of medical waste
  • Assists patients and their families in coping with illness or injury
  • Offers emotional support and actively listens to patients’ concerns
  • Provides comfort during difficult times.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely documentation of patient information
  • Documents vital signs, medication administration, patient’s response to treatment, and changes in their condition
  • Works collaboratively with registered nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals
  • Actively participates in patient care planning
  • Contributes to interdisciplinary meetings and discussions.
  • Assisting the NICU physicians in medical procedures and treatments.
  • Using and adjusting specialized medical equipment.
  • Formulating nursing plans and evaluating the effectiveness of treatments.
  • Comforting ill newborns and anxious parents and family members.
  • Offering support to parents and family members and educating them on the at-home care of their newborn.

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

 

  • Bachelors of science degree in nursing or Nursing Diploma or equivalent in Pediatrics.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and basic patient care techniques.
  • Previous experience in ICU or NICU.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in Kurdish, Arabic and English Languages.
  • Working knowledge of NICU specialized equipment.
  • Familiarity with infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Strong understanding of confidentiality and privacy regulations in healthcare settings.
  • Experience in a similar role is preferred but not always required.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Attention to details.
  • Compassion and empathy.

The following are requisite for job application:

  1. The Assigned staff will not be allowed to bring his or her children to the hospital during her or his shift because of unavailability care places in the hospital.
  2. Changing duties are not allowed unless in cases of emergencies or according to the organizational parameters.
  3. Only emergency sick leaves are allowed, other leave is not allowed and if asked the assigned personal must complete her or his monthly schedule before the leave.
  4. Private or governmental hospital or clinic sick leave is not accounted for unless seen by the supervisors and then approved by health directorate medical committees.
  5. In case of more than 2 absence from duty without reason, the contract will be terminated at once.
  6. The time you apply for the job your degree and license must be ready.
  7. Student are not allowed to apply for the job.
  8. You should not have a negative impressions or previous terminated contract from other health care facilities due to failure in doing your job or failure in communications and medical ethics.

Work Location: NICU in (paediatric hospital and maternity hospital) in Suleimaniyah.

Duration of the Contract: March.2025 – 31.12.2025  (With possibility of extension)
