Wood is currently looking for Operations Engineer as an expression of interest for an upcoming project in Basra, Iraq
To deliver continuous improvement programs in support of the drive towards Operational Excellence, and daily Safe Reliable Operations. This role will act as direct support to BNGL operating activities. Provide prompt and reliable decision making. Be a role model for the team and promote a positive workplace. Show commitment to safety and ensure BGC procedures and standards are understood, implemented and supported.
Responsibilities
Principal Accountabilities:
- Provide Leadership for Operational Excellence, OMP & WMP in BGC.
- Be a visible safety leader in your Asset, support the Shift Supervisor when required.
- Own the PTW process – deliver daily walkabouts to review ongoing works and permits
- Own the Operating Integrity plan, be accountable of delivery, training and auditing of OI elements.
- Work with AIPSM teams to develop safe operating envelopes and ensure they are understood by operations staff.
- Deliver Process Safety Fundamentals for the Asset.
- Carry out design change implementation and participate in HAZOP/SIL reviews for such.
- Own the Asset MOC process, provide training to users, audit MOC process and be accountable for MOC KPIs.
- Own the Incident Investigation process, liaise with management to form investigation teams and own action list and work with leadership to ensure actions are implemented.
- Provide advice and recommendations to the Operation Manager on process improvements in production and planned maintenance needs
- Develop and implement field standard systems and procedures.
- Assistance with production facilities operating budget (in liaison with the Operations Manager and Plant Director)
- Take ownership of barrier model and provide training to local teams, develop a quarterly review session to review barriers.
- Initiating Engineering programs to ensure technical integrity and equipment availability at optimum cost – driven from gaps identified in above programs
- Introduce a continuous improvement philosophy for operations engineering processes.
- Liaise with projects team to ensure synergy of activities – planning criticality.
- Providing input to the development of the asset budgets from gaps identified in programs.
- Own the Competence assurance process for the Asset, ensuring staff receive appropriate training and competence development
- Engaging the necessary technical support from the SMEs to develop maximized efficiency for activities.
- Identify requirements for general service and specialist support contracts
Qualifications
The Operations Engineer reports to the Operations Section Head. Their peers include other Operations Engineers, Shift Supervisor, Process Engineer and Discipline Maintenance Engineers
