Job Description
Wood is currently recruiting for a Petrophysicist (Iraqi local nationals only) position, and work pattern is 5 Days A week, we can only consider applications from local Iraqi nationals residing in Basra and surrounding areas.
Responsibilities
- Planning and stewardship of open and cased hole logging programs, give support in well real-time/LWD, new wells petrophysical evaluation perforate selection and depth control etc.
- Coordinate cased hole petrophysical evaluation in PLT/ILT/ Corrosion/MFC /Saturation Log, especially in horizontal PLT and contract management
- Work closely with geologic modelers and simulation engineers on providing petrophysical input to geologic and simulation models
- Design formation evaluation programs for current and future drilling activities
- Activities include data preparation and loading, coordination of core analysis programs and integration of core data, stewardship of SCAL programs, development of capillary pressure models and mapping of fluid contacts.
- Ensure well logging data are compiled in a timely manner, properly distributed, and placed in appropriate digital well files
- Develop and mentor less experienced staff.
Qualifications
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in geological/engineering sciences, however, Master’s or Doctorate’s degrees are desirable
- 10 year’s work experience in Formation Evaluation
- Experience with log analysis programs (Techlog and Emeraude)
- Good experience in Open hole logs interpretation (Conventional and advance OH), Cased hole logs interpretation (PLTS, PNL, MFC, Cement logs, etc.)
- Core analysis (RCAL & SCAL)
- Communication and interpersonal skills; fluency in written and spoken English
- Knowledgeable in the following disciplines: stratigraphy, structure, seismic interpretation, petrophysics, production geology, and reservoir engineering
- Must have experience/knowledge of current computer software for petrophysical analysis
- Advanced Petroleum Engineering skills for Petrophysicist
