Job Description
Wood is currently looking for a Pipe Welder to join our team in Basra, Iraq.

Responsibilities
- Reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.
- Determining the required tools, materials and welding methods.
- Assembling, installing and repairing pipe components and systems according to specifications.
- Inspecting materials, equipment, and tools.
- Maintaining supplies, equipment, and tools.
- Preparing working materials by clamping, cutting or applying chemical solutions to piping.
- Examining completed welds to ensure they are free of defects, smooth, and functional.
- Follow blueprints to ensure exact specifications of output
- Produce strong, clean welds
- Test output to ensure strength and tolerance of welds
- Observing safety regulations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, vocational training certificate required or completed apprenticeship.
- AWS certification.
- Prior experience in pipe welding, preferably in a fabrication shop
- Working knowledge of AWS, API, ANSI, and ASME codes and standards.
- Knowledge and experience with welding equipment and processes.
- Ability to troubleshoot and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent technical skills and the ability to interpret schematics.
- Familiarity with common welding tools and procedures, including MIG welding TIG welding, metal fabricating, grinding, and finishing metals
- Ability to stand, crouch, and occasionally lift heavy equipment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic
- Basra Residents preferred for this role
