Overview / Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities:
  • Providing on site supervision for onshore Pipeline Rehabilitation activities including:
  • ∙        Verification of excavation location, excavation, coating removal and cleaning, external inspection (manual and phased array), review of data, recoating, backfilling and site clean-up.
  • ∙        Planning and supervision of repairs including bolted clamp, welded split sleeve, composite wrap and sectional replacement.
  • ∙        Planning and supervision of maintenance and inspection pigging activities.
  • ∙        Input to development of routine processes and procedures.
  • ∙        Review and input to Job hazard assessments and participation in technical and safety reviews applicable to specific competencies.
  • ∙        Role includes day to day management of Contractor activities, verification of day work sheets and providing direction to Contractor in line with Contract and Company requirements.
  • ∙        We are currently undertaking an inspection programme covering around 500 km of operating pipelines. The programme will initially focus on known defects (damaged coating, corrosion, mechanical damage) and then areas of potential defects or possible encroachment and the development of a cleaning and Internal Inspection programme as new or refurbished pig traps become available. The position(s) will initially concentrate on the supervision of the external inspection programme and may broaden as these activities become routine.

 

Skills / Qualifications

Required Competencies:

  • Minimum 8 years oil / gas operator or relevant service company experience.
  • Extensive experience in onshore pipeline operations and / or maintenance and repair and / or inspection.
  • Experience in pigging operations (planning and execution).
  • Experience in welding and related facilities.
  • Experience in hot tapping and stopple activities.
  • Knowledge of manual UT, phased array and other advance forms of NDE.
  • Knowledge of painting and coating application and testing.
  • Knowledge of pipeline defect assessments including metal loss, dents and crack assessment
  • Knowledge of Cathodic Protection fundamentals, surveys and coating surveys.
  • Knowledge of Right of Way surveys and rectification activities.
  • Proven background in working in remote areas and supervision of Contractors.
